IS AI GOOD OR EVIL ?
by Khushi Shrivastav
Let us first know about AI!
AI (Artificial intelligence) is being heard everywhere, what exactly AI is?
As per the research, it is the science of making machines that thinks like humans. It can do things that are considered “smart.” AI technology can process large amounts of data in ways, unlike humans. The goal for AI is to be able to do things such as recognize patterns, make decisions, and judge like humans. As scary as it is good news.
So what is AI’s greatest asset? A video by GDI researcher Jan Bieser gives us the answer: it frees up time for creative phases. Conversely, AI can also disrupt human creativity. That is when digital applications are designed to consume as much time as possible. Think of social media.
So as we all know AI is very beneficial and useful for us:
1. AI drives down the time taken to perform a task.
2. Help improve access to healthcare, and clean water, and can also aid in the fight against climate change, poverty, and hunger.
3. The ability to provide students with a more personalized learning experience.
4. It can also automate complex processes and minimize downtime by predicting maintenance needs.
At the same time there are some drawbacks of AI that we must know:
1. AI lacks human quality like creativity and empathy.
2. JOB LOSSES DUE TO AI AUTOMATION.
3. Lack of Data Privacy Using AI Tools and more…
As Elon musk has said AI is far more dangerous that we can ever imagine, was he right?
Here, AI is actually really dangerous for us as we all have seen the recent case of AI deepfake video of rashimka mandanna how her face was used in that deepfake video has taken the internet by storm…
Lets see what exactly AI deepfake is and how it works?
AI deepfake is a type of synthetic media that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to create or manipulate content, typically in the form of audio, images, or videos, with the goal of appearing authentic or real. The term “deepfake” is derived from the combination of “deep learning” (a subset of machine learning) and “fake.”
In the context of videos, deepfakes can involve swapping faces or altering the facial expressions of individuals in a way that convincingly makes it seem like they are saying or doing things they never did. This technology has raised concerns due to its potential for misuse, such as creating misleading or fraudulent content, spreading misinformation, and potentially causing harm to individuals by placing them in fabricated scenarios.
AI can be really helpful, making things better and faster. It can help us grow. But if we’re not careful, it might also cause problems. Like, it could take away jobs or invade people’s privacy. So, while AI can be awesome, we need to use it wisely to avoid messing things up.
