Meta Launches Creator Lab in India to Empower Aspiring Content Creators
Creator Lab is a Meta-for-creator educational resource by creators, now launched in India. Its underlying idea is to support millions of youth across India in becoming creators.
Meta started making investments in creator education resources back in 2019. Its ‘Born on Instagram’ creator education and enablement program allows this education to move at scale. It’s a community of creators learning more about content creation, unlocking partnership and monetization opportunities. Now, in an effort to refresh the educational content on Born on Instagram, Meta launches Creator Lab-a new resource for aspiring creators. Creator Lab will feature content provided by creators themselves, who will share their experiences and insights on what they wish they had known when they started and what they learned along the way through trial and error.
“We are committed to supporting creators in freely expressing themselves and succeeding in their own way. We know success is personal. We work every day to identify more ways to deliver value through product features, programs, collaborations, and economic opportunities. And to give creators with ambition even more, we have launched Creator Lab: resources delivering content by creators for creators. We want to help creators across the country leverage this opportunity and fulfill their goals,” Paras Sharma, Director- Global Partnerships, Meta, India said.
The Creator Lab content will feature 14 creators representing different geographies, genres, and journeys of growth. Among those will be Aabir Vyas, Govind Kaushal, Meethika Dwivedi, Raghav Sachhar, and The Vixens Crew. The creators will share takeaways around three themes that are fundamental to achieving sustained success:
Expression: How to use new Instagram features and tools to help them express themselves in a more creative way.
Building community: How to make meaningful connections and a loyal following.
Growing long-term: How to play the long game, monetize your content, and set yourself up for a sustainable career.
The content is in English and Hindi, whichever is more comfortable for the creators comprising the videos. In the months to come, the content will be continuously added to the Lab, and the same will be captioned in 6 Indian languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Hindi.
