Minimalism defining Materialism and Beyond: Mauve June Edition
by Dhruvi Dhariwal
Less is more –
‘Less is more’ said Mies Van Der Rohe, defining the whole concept of minimalism in three words. It is all about intentionality, eliminating distractions, and making mindful choices. Minimalism does not promote “materialistic possessions,” but rather the “pursuit of happiness.” It is owning fewer possessions and freedom from the passion to possess. The world we exist in is a fast and continuously working one, and we tend to go with the flow, the flow created by this mere world, forgetting about ours. But minimalism reminds us of that.
Dive into the world of luxury with minimalism.
Simplicity within luxury is how Mauve would define minimalism. Looking at the transitions the world has seen, minimalism has evolved from time to time. There was an era where dressing up with a variety of fabrics and ornaments was minimalism because of the standards set then, and now that the world has evolved and transformed after complete materialism, minimalism has evolved, stepping down completely to a simple and comfortable lifestyle, eliminating the maximum materials, yet living with the most luxurious materials in the world.
Minimalism for June
Mauve has chosen the theme minimalism for the June Edition to remind the generation how materialism has taken over the world and how simplicity with materialism is the need of the hour, redefining minimalism. The world we exist in is a fast and continuously working one, and we tend to go with the flow, the flow created by this mere world, forgetting about ours. But minimalism reminds us of that; it reminds us where we come from and belong. It gives us the freedom to be free—freedom to be you, me, and we—without worrying about this world.
Life with minimalism
At some point in life, everybody has chased something madly and passionately with all their heart, only to question if it was all worth it or not. But minimalism frees us from all the worldly punches and tags, cutting down the sources we don’t require to be at peace. Minimalism defines oneself. The best is when one can’t understand oneself. It is what makes a human humane, creating a slow life one requires to make the fullest of this one life.
