Dabur India’s Strong Brands Propel Record Revenue Growth
The chairman of Dabur India, Mohit Burman, had a forecast, “Gradual rise in consumption in the coming fiscal year driven by established brands.” Faith in the unbreakable strategy did ring in assigning the strong brands of the company to lead it towards prosperous growth in an expanding market.
“Improving macroeconomic indicators, predictions of a normal monsoon, continued government spending on infrastructure, and lower inflation have fueled optimism for a gradual uptick in consumption trends over the course of the next year,” Burman told shareholders of the company.
There was a discernment of slowdown in consumption during the 2023-24 fiscal year, attributed to high food inflation and erratic rainfall patterns affecting rural demand. Malhotra, however, sounded optimistic over the trajectory of the rural market, citing various reasons: government spending on infrastructure, rising rural incomes, and expectation of normal monsoon. “We are confident that rural consumption will improve this year, albeit with greater visibility in the second half,” he said.
It was learnt that eight core brands were the priority for Dabur’s domestic business, which contributed 75% of the firm’s revenue. “Presently, Dabur’s domestic business contributes 75% of its turnover. It focuses on eight core brands: Dabur Chyawanprash, Dabur Honey, Dabur Honitus, Dabur PudinHara, Dabur Lal Tail, Dabur Amla, Dabur Red Paste, and Real,” the announcement said.
These brands crossed the coveted billion-rupee turnover mark. Four of them – Dabur Glucose, Dabur Sarson Amla Hair Oil, Hobby, and Dabur Hajmola – were singled out for their performance in the Rs 250 crore to Rs 500 crore range. “A prestigious club of 20 Dabur brands has now achieved over a billion rupees in turnover,” the report announced.
Dabur India posted record revenue from operations of Rs 12,404 crore for the financial year to March 31st. That was supported by a formidable portfolio of more than 400 products backed by a mighty arsenal of 1,000 SKUs.
