Founded by Women’s Health Physiotherapist Dr. Shilpee Lunia, Dr. Shilpee’s BellyFit was born from a clear realization—postnatal fitness was not being treated with the seriousness it truly deserves. While new mothers were often advised to simply “lose weight” or “just rest,” critical concerns like pelvic floor weakness, Diastasis Recti, back pain, bloating, and hormonal imbalance were largely overlooked.
BellyFit was created to bridge this gap through a medical + fitness model, focusing not just on weight loss, but on pelvic health, core strength, and complete recovery. Every program begins with medical assessment, blends physiotherapy with functional fitness, and prioritizes safety, empathy, and evidence-based training. It is not just a gym—it is a healing and confidence-building journey for women.
The initial challenges were creating awareness and breaking myths around postnatal movement. Through education-based workshops, social media awareness, and personalized assessments, trust gradually grew.
The brand’s journey spans nearly 12 years. Originally launched as Dr. Shilpee Lunia’s Physiotherapy and Pregnancy Fitness Centre, it has now been rebranded as Dr. Shilpee’s BellyFit. Since inception, the centre has supported 1000+ women, achieved 200+ Diastasis Recti closures, reversed 90% chronic back pain cases, and continues to receive increasing referrals from doctors and gynecologists.
Its primary audience includes postnatal mothers, expecting mothers, and women facing core or pelvic health concerns. Their transformation stories have shaped more structured, researched, and result-oriented programs over time. Key learnings along the journey include understanding that education builds awareness, every mother’s recovery timeline is unique, and a holistic approach—mind, body, and hormones—delivers the strongest results.
Looking ahead, BellyFit aims to train new postnatal fitness experts, launch online and hybrid portals, expand to multiple cities, and turn women’s health awareness into a movement—with the vision of bringing scientific recovery to every mother.
As a female founder and mother, Dr. Shilpee ensures empathy remains at the heart of the brand. Her message to aspiring women entrepreneurs is simple: turn passion into purpose, stay consistent, collaborate over competing, and trust your journey—especially when you are empowering other women.
