Exciting news from Chhattisgarh! Vishnu Deo Sai of the BJP is set to become the Chief Minister with unanimous support from the legislative assembly and party discussions.
Expressing gratitude, Sai said, “I’ve been chosen as the leader of the legislative assembly. Thanks to PM Modi, HM Amit Shah, and BJP president JP Nadda for trusting me.” His first task is to approve 18 lakh houses for housing scheme beneficiaries.
In the recent elections, the BJP won 54 out of 90 seats, a significant victory compared to Congress’s decline from 68 seats in 2018 to just 35. Despite speculations about party bigwig Raman Singh, Sai, from the influential Sahu (Teli) community, assured everyone of the party’s commitment to different communities, with 45% being OBCs and 32% tribal in the state.
The BJP’s success in the recent election includes winning 17 out of the 29 seats reserved for Scheduled Tribes, a substantial increase from three seats in 2018. Their triumph in the tribal-dominated Surguja division played a pivotal role in the overall victory.
Looking ahead, the BJP plans to appoint two deputy chief ministers, aiming to strengthen its leadership in Chhattisgarh. The swearing-in ceremony for Vishnu Deo Sai is scheduled for December 13 at 3:30 pm.
