Apple Rejects Meta’s Llama Integration, Favors ChatGPT for AI
According to Bloomberg, Apple Inc. recently rejected Meta Platforms Inc.’s plan to integrate their AI chatbot, Llama, onto the iPhone. There was very little conversation between the two businesses, and they never developed into a formal alliance.
At the moment, Apple is concentrating on integrating Gemini from Alphabet Inc. and ChatGPT from OpenAI into its products. Apple decided against collaborating with Meta due to their misgivings about the privacy policies of the social networking site and their conviction that ChatGPT is a more sophisticated solution.
Google and Apple’s cooperation on Safari search enhances their relationship, and there is room for more cooperation on Gemini. Apple recently unveiled Apple Intelligence, a line of artificial intelligence products that includes voice memo transcription, tailored emoji creation, and notification features.
Apple is looking for partnerships to improve its chatbot technology in spite of improvements, taking into account solutions such as the chatbot offered by Anthropic. Paying ChatGPT users can use their subscriptions on iOS thanks to the present arrangement with OpenAI, which could result in income for both businesses.
Former partners in the Facebook integration of iOS, Apple and Meta are now rivals in the AI, smart home, and mixed reality spaces. Later this year, Apple’s Apple Intelligence will be incorporated into the Mac, iPad, and iPhone operating systems, providing users with a selection of chatbot alternatives according to their tastes.
