In the year 2009, Rajkumar Hirani came out with the cinematic masterpiece 3 Idiots that carved its way into the hearts and minds of audiences from across the globe. The movie has remained within the minds of people because of its comic and emotional content for its eternal characterization in the form of Dr. Viru “Virus” Sahastrabuddhe portrayed by versatile actor Boman Irani. It is a character etched in the hearts of viewers. He occupies a special place in Irani’s own heart, too, and something he revisited during a recent visit to IIM Bangalore.
Boman Irani shared that the visit to the campus, where much of the film 3 Idiots was shot, left him in a nostalgia attack. He took to social media and shared a picture where he superimposed the still from that film with a current image of himself standing on that same stage and captioned it:
“15 years ago, standing on the same stage at IIM Bangalore, I brought ‘Virus’ to life in #3Idiots. Today I come back, absolutely overwhelmed with the love and appreciation that has kept coming my way. It was so special to connect with the students here and relive those special memories.”.
Feeling grateful for the journey, brilliant direction of Rajkumar Hirani, and the great team that made it all possible. Blessed to be back where it all started.
