“Humans of Bombay celebrates 10 years of stories—what’s their next chapter?”
Humans of Bombay, a popular storytelling platform, recently marked a significant milestone – a decade of sharing heartfelt stories that resonate with millions. Starting in Mumbai, the platform has now spread its wings to cover all of India, connecting with people globally through the power of storytelling. With a massive community of over 5 million followers, Humans of Bombay (HOB) has chronicled diverse stories, from local tea stalls to the journeys of iconic figures like Ratan Tata and Narendra Modi.
This milestone not only celebrates a decade of championing exceptional Indian stories but also highlights HOB’s commitment to making important conversations accessible to a wider audience. The platform has achieved numerous milestones, including fundraising for individuals like Ali Bhatt, a Kashmiri carpet weaver wrongfully imprisoned for 23 years, and a young girl from the Kalbelia tribe.
HOB has also collaborated with well-known brands like Dove, Amazon, WhatsApp, OLA, and Hindustan Unilever, showcasing the achievements of ordinary people. Their collaboration with Hindustan Unilever’s CSR initiative, The Suvidha Centre, has shed light on stories of individuals benefiting from dignified sanitation.
Looking ahead, HOB is gearing up for its first large offline event, the ‘Bombay Storytelling Festival,’ scheduled for later this year. This festival aims to bring online stories into an offline space, offering unique experiences like the human library, panel discussions, open mics, live music performances, food stalls, and interactive installations.
In addition to this, HOB is diversifying further into Long Form Content with ‘Realign,’ a new venture exploring the intersection of science, spirituality, and wellness. ‘Realign’ encompasses a podcast with insightful conversations, courses for life alignment, and creative community-based experiential events.
The CEO of Humans of Bombay, Karishma Mehta, expressed gratitude for the past decade, emphasizing the platform’s goal to unify humans through authentic stories. Looking forward, HOB introduces ‘Realign’ as a venture diving deep into holistic narratives, with a podcast already live. The podcast features transformative conversations with experts, thought leaders, and visionaries like Shikhar Dhawan, Zepto founders Aadit and Kaivalya Vohra, and Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
Recently, ‘Realign Live’ was launched, focusing on the topic of manifestation. The event saw a diverse turnout of like-minded individuals ranging from 18 to 60+ years, all with the vision to realign their lives.
Humans of Bombay remains steadfast in its commitment to positive change, with ‘Realign’ being a testament to empowering the community for a better life. As they embark on the next chapter of storytelling, HOB continues to weave narratives that resonate with the essence of humanity. Whether you’ve been following their stories for years or just discovering them now, the journey of Humans of Bombay is an invitation to explore the diverse tapestry of human experiences.
