McDonald’s Introduces AR-Powered Newspaper Ads to Launch Signature Collection Burgers in India
McDonald’s has come up with an “augmented reality (AR)” innovation for print advertisements to market its newly launched Signature Collection burgers. You can scan an advertisement published in the newspaper using your smartphone to trigger animated visuals of the burgers popping out from the page itself. The burgers’ “layers, textures, and ingredients come alive” as part of the innovative activity.
This project is being carried out by Connaught Plaza Restaurants (CPRL) and is designed to upgrade the conventional print media sector by using AR and turning print media into an exciting storytelling medium. This is achieved by combining AR and newspapers.
The campaign is launched to promote the availability of the Signature Collection all over North and East India. The new menu includes Cheesy Mushroom Burger for ₹239 and Cheesy Chicken Burger for ₹239. The primary products in the new menu include Cheesy Mushroom Burger and Cheesy Chicken Burger.
McDonald’s cited the sourcing of essential ingredients such as lettuce, mushrooms, chicken, and eggs from local suppliers in the Indian market as supporting the company’s sourcing commitment.
The Signature Collection can be obtained through dine-in, takeaway, drive-thru, and delivery options at McDonald’s outlets.
