Metro…इन दिनों : Pankaj Tripathi spills beans on shooting for a pivotal scene at a real location

‘Metro.इन दिनों’ is all set to release in cinemas on 4th July 2025

Much-anticipated film Metro…इन दिनों, directed by Anurag Basu, is the culmination of his hyperlinked trilogy after ‘Life in a…Metro’ and ‘Ludo’. The film is making waves with its revolutionary trailer launch, which drew eyeballs with its new format and emotional performances. Fueling the intrigue of the movie is a compelling performance by Pankaj Tripathi, who shares about shooting one of the most surprising and creatively bold sequences in his career.

For a pivotal scene in the story, Tripathi had to film in a genuine town setting dressed in very little clothing and running through live crowds. Discussing the experience, he said, “It was a great scene, filmed in a real location, and I did it for the first time. I was acting in such a manner where clothing was minimal, but it was required for the part.”. It wasn’t for sensationalism; it was a vital component of the story of the film.

He also discovered that concealed cameras were employed in recording natural responses from individuals in the crowd: “That sequence is a climax. We did not even know when the shot began. Some of the crowd reactions we got were on the level. I was nervous a little, but if we did not do this experiment, the storytelling would not be complete. I even trained for a few days in advance. I hope it will work. You will see and tell me.

The movie attempts to provide viewers with a personal affinity towards stories that are intimate and universal in nature, the movie is directed by Anurag Basu and boasts a star-studded cast with Aditya Roy Kapur, Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta, Konkona SenSharma, Anupam Kher, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, and Saswata Chatterjee.
