In a historic moment for Chhattisgarh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new building of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly at Nava Raipur on November 1, 2025. The event, marking the Silver Jubilee of the state’s formation, symbolized the union of Chhattisgarh’s rich cultural heritage with its vision for a progressive and self-reliant future. PM Modi described the occasion as a golden chapter in the state’s democratic and developmental journey.
Celebrating 25 Years of Chhattisgarh’s Progress
During his address, PM Modi expressed deep emotional attachment to the land, recalling his long association with Chhattisgarh as a party worker. He highlighted how the state’s journey—from limited resources to modern advancements—reflects the strength and aspirations of its people. He dedicated the inauguration to Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, whose foresight and compassion led to the creation of Chhattisgarh in 2000, calling it a tribute to his visionary leadership.

PM Modi described the new Vidhan Sabha as a “vibrant centre for shaping the destiny of Chhattisgarh,” not just a legislative structure. Highlighting the transformation of Chhattisgarh over the past 25 years, PM Modi said the state, once known for Naxalism, is now a beacon of peace, prosperity, and stability. He noted that the Bastar Olympics and development initiatives have revitalized the region, making it a model of inclusive growth. He affirmed that India is moving toward the eradication of Naxalism and Maoist terrorism, with Chhattisgarh contributing significantly to national progress.
