Ram Madhvani Films, Equinox Align Leadership for Next Phase
Ram Madhvani Films, Equinox Films, and Equinox Virtual today announced a leadership alignment, marking a strengthening of structure as the companies scale their work across advertising, long-form content, and technology-led storytelling.
The alignment reflects the significant expansion of the businesses in recent years, including the addition of immersive, VR- and AI-led content verticals, alongside continued growth in advertising and long-form storytelling.
Ram Madhvani will continue as Founder and Chairman, retaining creative leadership and strategic oversight across the companies. As part of this alignment, Amita Madhvani, Co-Founder, assumes the additional role of CEO, with responsibility for driving growth and business strategy across Ram Madhvani Films, Equinox films and Equinox Virtual. Her expanded role will focus on scaling the companies’ creative and commercial ambitions, strengthening long-term partnerships, and accelerating expansion into new formats and technologies.
Ram Madhvani, Founder and Chairman, said, “The most important thing for us is reinvention. This allows us to stay open to new technologies and forms of storytelling with depth and meaning while remaining firmly rooted in our culture. For me it’s important to have a vision and pass it on whether it’s in films, series, advertising, VR, AI and newer forms of storytelling yet to come. With Amita, Manoj, Khvafar , and the full team, we continue to inspire and motivate each other with a shared value system”.
Amita Madhvani, Co-Founder and CEO, said, “Stepping into this role at a time when storytelling is being reshaped by technology is both exciting and challenging. The focus ahead is on expanding our creative universe from redefining how advertising films are made, to building AI-led characters and immersive VR experiences. As we scale, the opportunity is to create work that feels new, relevant and ambitious, while building businesses that are equipped for the future.”
At Equinox Films, Manoj Shroff, Business Head and Executive Producer, will continue to lead the advertising business. A long-standing pillar of the company, Manoj has played a crucial role in shaping Equinox’s production capabilities and client relationships over the years, and will now focus on driving efficiency, scale and innovation in advertising filmmaking, including the integration of new production technologies.
At Equinox Virtual, Khvafar Vakharia, Business Head and Creative Executive Producer, will lead the company’s growth across immersive and emerging formats. He will oversee the development of AI-driven, VR-led and experimental storytelling projects, strengthening Equinox Virtual’s position at the intersection of technology and narrative.
Over the past year, Ram Madhvani Films, Equinox Films and Equinox Virtual have delivered a diverse slate of work across advertising, branded content, and immersive new-age storytelling—while continuing a legacy of creative distinction. This legacy includes Ram Madhvani being the only director to have received the National Award for Neerja, two Cannes Lions for advertising, and an International Emmy nomination for Aarya, a rare distinction that reflects excellence across cinema, advertising and long-form storytelling.
Ram Madhvani Films released The Waking of a Nation, a series that drew attention for its patriotic lens and socially resonant themes. Equinox Films reinforced its leadership in the advertising space with high-impact campaigns for leading brands such as Airtel (Payments, Xstream and Perplexity Pro), Hilton and Nykaa featuring Deepika Padukone, Aldo with Vedang Raina and Rasha Thadani, and Nestlé Milkmaid, among others.
Expanding the group’s technology-led vision, Equinox Virtual advanced its immersive portfolio with the launch of an AI-VR mythological initiative, beginning with a short film inspired by the Bhagavad Gita. The division also unveiled its first original AI musical IP, Mohini – Khud Se Pyaar, marking a strategic move at the intersection of artificial intelligence, music and narrative-driven experiences.
Operating from a shared creative base, the companies continue to collaborate closely while pursuing distinct creative mandates, building a body of work that reflects both scale and innovation.
