Sony Sports Network acquires television rights for Major League Cricket
While the local sports broadcaster is Sony Sports Network, Culver Max Entertainment announced that it acquired the exclusive television rights to Major League Cricket alias the T20 cricket spectacle for one year in India. The second season of the league curtain-opener, current champions MI New York taking on Seattle Orcas at Church Street Park in Morrisville, goes up on July 6, 2024, live on Indian television. The grand finale of the tournament to be played on July 29, 2024 at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas will also be broadcast live in India. MLC has been on the radar of interest of India’s eternal cricket elite, and to an extent, is responsible for the present cricket movement in the United States. Individually, this gives an absolutely new range of excitement in case of involvement from Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, or Kolkata Knight Riders in Indian cricket. Not less than some majorly featured cricketers like Marcus Stoinis, Nicholas Pooran, and Quinton de Kock are supposed to play the next season for the league. The MLC’s second season promises star-studded commentary by the former captain of the Indian national cricket team and legendary batsman Sunil Gavaskar, legend of Pakistan Wasim Akram, former Auckland and New Zealand cricketer Danny Morrison, Daren Ganga, Pommie Mbangwa, Matthew Hayden, Chris Morris, Natalie Germanos, Scott Styris, and Mike Haysmen.
