Will Pushpa 2: The Rule break Aamir Khan’s record of Dangal- the Highest Grosser Worldwide?
Allu Arjun’s movie Pushpa 2: The Rule has made raking moolah at the box office to an astonishing amount of roughly a whopping amount of Rs 1700 plus in just approximately around 30 days of its release. This being said, while it is gorging on this unrelenting achievement that it has bagged so far, several of them are pondering if it can maintain this trend to surpass the lifetime collection of Aamir Khan’s Dangal that hit the screen way back in 2016, and did cross the figure of Rs. 2000 crore worldwide.
Let’s scan through the commercial success of some of Aamir Khan’s most important film works, what brought him among the big time box office contenders.
Aamir Khan: The Blockbuster Man
1. Ghajini (2008): First film to make a mark in Bollywood’s Rs 100 crore club, and thus it was followed by Rs. 114 crores in the country. Indeed, the success of this was the new Bollywood wave-big or bigger than life and a budget much larger than usual.
2. 3 Idiots (2010): 3 Idiots was Aamir’s third consecutive blockbuster. With a domestic collection of Rs. 200 crores and Rs. 400 crores worldwide, it broke so many records that it proved that films made by Aamir could be popular enough but also find an emotional resonance amongst audiences everywhere in the world.
3. PK (2014): PK had touched great heights as the movie went on to gross Rs 740 crore lifetime from India and would have crossed over Rs 800 crore worldwide, thereby making the position in the 1000-crore club of Aamir Khan become unshakeable.
4. Dangal (2016): Last but not the least, Aamir’s Dangal, the film that broke all records, made its way to earning more than Rs. 2000 crore worldwide. So yes, not only has it been his biggest hit but also one of the highest grossing films in history. And in dizzying success in China, Dangal became a global phenomenon raking collections large enough to compare to some of the biggest Bollywood films.
Pushpa 2: The Game-Changer?
Pushpa 2 is already flashing earth signals that it’s going to become a monumental hit. The movie, with Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, collected Rs 1700 crore at the worldwide box office in just 30 days, and should quite easily carry the fantastic performance forward so far, with dominance both in Hindi as well as the regional markets. And when this trend picks up, it would quickly race beyond Dangal’s lifetime earning, more so with the marvelous response in overseas markets and increasing popularity of South Indian cinema in the ground at Bollywood.
At this stage, too early to predict, but Pushpa 2 has already emerged as a record holder one of the most successful films of 2024 if its box office collections sustain momentum, Allu Arjun might well surpass all earlier South Indian film history but going by the box office collection, he may even challenge Aamir Khan’s crown as Bollywood’s box office king.
