The Apple iPhone 16 series was yesterday launched and started sales today, September 20, 2024, and is abuzz in many pockets of India. Days before the launch, long queues were witnessed outside flagship stores of Apple in BKC, Mumbai and Saket, Delhi for viewing its new models.
It was also not just accessible through physical stores and the latest iPhone 16 series available on quick commerce platforms such as Blinkit and BigBasket as well as Flipkart Minutes, and Cashify also reported the rise of new orders over iPhones.
Co-founder and CEO of the Bigbasket, Hari Menon, shared on LinkedIn how at 8 a.m., the platform welcomed its first order for iPhone 16. A delivery was made within seven minutes. At the same time, with iPhones, within just 100 minutes, customers bought 372 iPhones.
Then another player of quick commerce, Blinkit, also hopped on to the iPhone bandwagon. Founder Albinder Dhindsa took to LinkedIn to share the view that the platform had begun selling units of the iPhone 16 at 8:00 a.m and nearly 300 units were sold through their platform by 10:00 a.m. Blinkit has been bringing iPhones since the launch of the iPhone 14 series and continues doing so with the latest release.
Zepto is also shipping iPhone 16 series from Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad.
Apart from this, Flipkart Minutes that set the internet on fire after a customer, as is being reported, placed an order for iPhone 16 while waiting in the queue outside a retail store by choosing a quick commerce option instead.
iPhone 16 launch is witnessing tremendous demand from retail as well as quick commerce players like Blinkit, BigBasket etc.
The cashify store is a re-commerce platform that allows customers to exchange their old gadgets by upgrading to the iPhone 16 in any of the closest Cashify stores. The customers can trade in their phones along with an additional amount being paid to upgrade to the new iPhone.
The series, introduced today in 60 countries, includes four models: standard iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Starting prices in India are: iPhone 16 is at Rs 79,900; iPhone 16 Plus is at Rs 89,900; iPhone 16 Pro is at Rs 119,900; iPhone 16 Pro Max is at Rs 144,900.
