Smarten Power Systems, an Indian power backup and solar
energy solutions company catering to residential and commercial users, today announced
the appointment of Mr. Ranjit Singh as its Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective 1 August
- The appointment was approved by the company’s Board of Directors at its meeting
held on 14 July 2026.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Singh was associated with Smarten Power Systems as
Consultant – Vice President, Operations, where he played an instrumental role in
strengthening operational processes, enhancing manufacturing efficiencies and supporting
several of the company’s key initiatives. In his new role as Chief Operating Officer, he will
lead the company’s end-to-end operations, manufacturing excellence, supply chain, quality
systems and strategic execution while driving operational efficiencies to support Smarten’s
expansion plans in India and international markets.
During his tenure as Consultant – Vice President, Operations, Mr. Singh was instrumental in
transitioning Smarten’s in-house battery manufacturing facility at Baddi, Himachal Pradesh
— a strategic initiative the company undertook following its IPO. He steered the complete
handover and transition of the battery manufacturing operations, putting the processes,
systems and teams in place for stable in-house production. With that transition now
successfully concluded, he is well placed to lead operations across Smarten’s existing
manufacturing plants and spearhead the operationalization of the company’s upcoming
manufacturing facility.
The appointment comes at a significant phase in Smarten’s growth journey as the company
continues to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities and expand its product portfolio.
With increasing demand for reliable power backup and renewable energy solutions,
Smarten is focused on building a robust operational framework that supports sustainable
expansion, faster execution and enhanced customer value.

A distinguished engineering professional, Mr. Ranjit Singh brings more than 52 years of
experience in manufacturing, engineering, product development and operations across the
power electronics, telecom power and renewable energy sectors. Before joining Smarten
Power Systems, Mr. Singh held leadership roles at Vrinda Nano Technologies, Agmetal
India, Delta Power Solutions India, Ascom (India), Benning SMC Power Systems, Bhurji
Electronics, JCT Electronics, UPTRON Powertronics, USHA Rectifier Corporation India and
Eastern Electronics.
With this appointment, Smarten Power Systems continues to strengthen its leadership team
as it builds a future-ready organization to meet the evolving needs of the power backup and
renewable energy industry.
