Apple and Meta reportedly partner on AI integration
Apple and Meta, known for their competitive stance in the technology sector, have reportedly engaged in talks about a potential collaboration. According to a Wall Street Journal report, discussions have focused on integrating Meta’s generative AI model into Apple’s Intelligence framework.
This development underscores Apple’s approach to enhancing its AI capabilities through collaborations, alongside its own AI development efforts. Unlike peers like Microsoft, Alphabet, OpenAI, and Meta, which have developed proprietary AI technologies, Apple has opted for a strategy combining internal innovation and external partnerships.
Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president, recently indicated an interest in leveraging capabilities from Google’s Gemini AI system to enhance Apple’s product offerings further, reflecting the company’s ongoing efforts in advancing AI technology.
