Amazon Prime India Boosts Speed: 1M Items for Same-Day Delivery
Now, in a bid to offer faster deliveries on a wider selection of products, Amazon Prime members in India can enjoy quicker deliveries. More than 1 million items are eligible for free, unlimited same-day delivery, and over 4 million items are eligible for next-day delivery on Amazon.in under the Prime banner.
It is an expansion that comes as Amazon notches a new record for Prime delivery speeds globally, breaking through the threshold with more than 5 billion items delivered same-day or next-day so far in 2024. Nearly half of all Prime member orders in India across categories—from eyeliners to phones—are arriving next-day, same-day, or even faster.
It’s more than just fast, free shipping. Prime is a bundle of incredible value. Members enjoy deals on shopping events like Prime Day and the Great Indian Festival. The award-winning entertainment comes with Prime Video, unlimited music with Amazon Music, free games with Prime Gaming, books and magazines with Prime Reading, and cashback benefits with the Amazon Pay ICICI Bank Credit Card.
It has more than doubled the size of its same-day delivery network, enabling twice as many Prime members to get same-day delivery compared to last year. This is made possible by a sturdy infrastructure made up of the following:
Fulfillment centers across 15 states that provide storage for millions of sellers.
Sortation centers in 19 states that sort packages with more than 1,950 delivery stations.
A network of 28,000 third-party delivery partners that helps to ensure delivery coverage for every zip code in the continental United States.
AI and machine learning for the best product selection and placement to make the delivery rapid
On the other side, as Amazon focuses more on faster delivery, the organization also gives immense concern to employee safety. Faster delivery doesn’t compromise the safety of the employee; it rather enhances infrastructure and product placement.
“We’re constantly innovating to provide the best convenience, value, and delivery options for our customers,” said Akshay Sahi, Director and Country Head, Amazon Prime, Delivery Experience, India. “By offering faster deliveries on a wider selection, we’re putting the products our customers need and want closer to them.”
Amazon did not stop pursuing customer core values: selection, low prices, and convenience in delivery. The company continued adding more goods to its offerings while delivering products faster than ever before.
