Patralekhaa Reveals Nerves About Playing Savitribai Phule in ‘Phule’

After that eye-catching performance in the recent film Wild Wild Punjab, Patralekhaa is going to enthrall audiences once again with a very different kind of role in the biopic Phule. She is playing the role of revolutionary reformer Savitribai Phule. The announcement came in April for release later this year.

Recently, during an interview, the City Lights actress shared a few insights related to portraying the character of Savitribai Phule. She said that she was very nervous because playing this role of the character was a great responsibility. She remembers, “Two or four days before I was going to start shooting for Phule, I was sitting at home crying. I was thinking how can I do this. This is the story of Savitribai Phule. I believe that she was a kind of woman who brought out many changes in society. And that’s why I was so nervous about taking the role of Savitribai.”

Apart from Patralekhaa, Pratik Gandhi will also be seen as Mahatma Govindrao Phule. On the professional front, some of her other upcoming projects include Anubhav Sinha’s ‘IC814: The Kandahar Hijack’ and ‘Gulkanda Tales’.
