Perplexity AI to Introduce Ads on Search Platform by Q4
Nvidia and Jeff Bezos-backed Perplexity AI announced Thursday it will bring ads onto its AI-powered search platform as early as Q4. The AI startup launched a program for publishers last month, initially partnering with a group that includes TIME, Der Spiegel, and Fortune to share revenue generated from interactions referencing their content.
Since the release of ChatGPT in November 2022, leading search engines have hastened to bring AI into web search. That is because for some time, analysts have taken AI-driven search as a threat that can soon topple the supremacy of Google in the market post-AI explosion.
It was after an initial investment; Microsoft infused OpenAI technology into its Bing search engine. Google rolled out AI-powered summaries to the public at its May developer conference.
