Skechers Signs Yastika Bhatia as First Female Cricket Ambassador
Skechers, The Comfort Technology Company, has signed Indian cricketer Yastika Bhatia to be the latest brand ambassador for the Performance category in India. Bhatia will be the first female to take the field wearing Skechers cricket boots, after Ishan Kishan joined the Skechers brand earlier this year. With the release set to hit the markets on May 30, Yastika Bhatia would also be featuring in promotional campaigns supporting Skechers Performance and Lifestyle collections as she joins in helping grow the brand’s presence in the India sportswear market. Bhatia made her debut for the Indian Women’s Cricket team in September 2021 in the series against Australia.
She is known for her left-hand batting and keeping the wickets, which has really enabled her to represent India in many formats of the game, including ODIs and Twenty20 Internationals. Certainly, her ability to handle pressure and making valuable contributions as far as batting and keeping the wickets are concerned made her one of the most sought-after players within the Indian women’s cricket team. Rahul Vira, CEO of Skechers Asia Pvt. Said Vivek Sharma, Managing Director, Skechers South Asia Pvt. With the belief that “we believe supporting women’s cricket is both important and essential: as a company that cares about the sport and one that wants to build its presence in India,” there could not better a talent picked out for featuring in the Skechers’ roster than Yastika Bhatia. Like the addition of Skechers talent into her portfolio, Yastika’s association with Skechers is in tune with her leading attitude to make it number one sportswear in India. We are committed to the development of sports in the country, and her talent, dedication, and positive attitude toward the game perfectly fit Skechers and its continuing quest to be in the company of dynamic and inspiring athletes who truly personify the spirit of perseverance and excellence. We strongly believe that her energy and commitment to the sport reflect our brand values, and together, we will be pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in sportswear.
Further hailing this partnership, Indian cricketer Yastika Bhatia enthused, “I’m very excited to be on board with Skechers! Yastika Bhatia said, “I’m very excited to be on board with Skechers. Skechers’ commitment to athletes is one thing I respect tremendously, so I am excited to represent a brand committed to innovation in sportswear.
