IMC 2024: AI Innovations and Future Tech Showcase in New Delhi

India Mobile Congress, the largest digital technology exhibition in Asia, announced an impressive lineup of AI and Gen AI-focused showcase, exhibitions, and discussions for its eighth edition scheduled from15th-18th October at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, co-hosted by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI). IMC 2024 had it theme as ‘The Future is Now’, that was recently unveiled in July 2024 by Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Hon’ble Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region. It’s an indication of how India stands today at the heart of the technological revolution.

IMC 2024 will center significant focus on the discussions, showcases and themes such as AI in networks, AI in Chipsets, Ethical AI. Special daylong session ‘AI for Good’ under special focus, where experts and delegates from all around the globe deliberate upon the theme, organized in association with International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

India Mobile Congress 2024 will see over 50 global and Indian speakers discuss various aspects of AI & Gen AI, all spread over more than 11 diverse discussion panels over the 4 days of the event.

Dr Neeraj Mittal, Secretary, DoT, Govt of India, said, “Globally AI & Gen AI is evolving pretty fast and world is seeing the resultant magnificent potential.”. The country is going to be a key participant in the development of AI towards accelerating social and economic development. This year, India will be hosting the prestigious ‘World Telecom Standardization Telecom Assembly (WTSA-2024)’ along with India Mobile Congress 2024 in New Delhi, where WTSA-2024 will play an important role in determining the future of standardization of evolving technologies which include AI. The other IMC 2024 will be having wide arrays of sessions reflecting the aspirations of the nation with regard to the subject. It’s definite for it to look forward to exciting discussions on topics with the speakers and all over the globe. These deliberations are hoped to pave the roadmap for the future. As the largest technology forum in Asia, India Mobile Congress has evolved into a global platform that allows people to showcase innovative solutions, services, and cutting-edge use cases for industry, government, academics, startups, and other important stakeholders in the technology ecosystem. This year, it would also focus on subjects like Quantum technology and Circular Economy besides focusing on 6G, 5G use-case show, cloud & edge computing, IoT, semiconductors, cybersecurity, green tech, satcom, and electronics manufacturing.

Aspire, the flagship start-up program introduced in the last edition, would be even bigger this year. The Aspire program would see more than 140 startups working on AI-based applications in different industries. Apart from the industry participation, IMC 2024 is likely to see participation and booths from over 15 ministries as well which would also showcase how AI is being integrated into their departments.
