The great Malavika Mohanan has indeed left a debatable mark with back-to-back Thangalaan and Yudhra. The exuberance of Malavika Mohanan was at its prime in both films where she played two different roles. It would be really fascinating to see how she merges into two worlds through those characters, but as an actor, it must have been a fantastic experience for her too.
About her experience working on different characters in Thangalaan and Yudhra, Malavika said, “Both are from different worlds. The prep you do is so different as an actor. For Thangalaan, there were a lot more action sequences, there was a lot of physical prep and stunt training. For Nikhat, I had to learn the piano- it was more of a soft girl character, I mean she is tough when she has to be but it’s a very different character. It is very versatile and as an actor, it is good to not be put in a box where you are playing the same kind of role.”
In Thangalaan, Malavika is portraying Aarathi, goddess inspired by the deity who used to be the protector of Kolar Gold fields. On the other side, in Yudhra, the actress is Nikhat, a strong woman soft and equally fierce when she needs to be and becomes a helping hand for him in taming his anger issues.
besides Thangalaan, the next film Malavika Mohanan will be seen in ‘The Raja Saab’ with Prabhas.
