Dentsu APAC CEO Robert Gilby Resigns for New Opportunity After One Year
The company said Chief Executive officer dentsu APAC Robert Gilby resigned from the company. He joined in September last year, succeeding Ashish Bhasin. Industry sources reported this development by saying that he is leaving the company for better opportunity.
Dentsu united 11,600 talented people across 18 markets in the APAC region around dentsu’s global ambition to become the most integrated network in the world.
Mr. Gilby has more than 30 years of experience in the Media and Entertainment industry, with more than 25 years of experience working in Asia Pacific. A proven record of building successful profitable businesses for global multinationals like The Walt Disney Company, Warnermedia, and PwC, he has deep expertise on markets including China, India, Australia, and Southeast Asia.
Gilby joins dentsu from Nielsen where he was President, APAC and led the development of key relationships with media owners, brands, and agencies focused on advancing audience insights across the media ecosystem. He founded Blue Hat Ventures-an investment and advisory firm focused on identification and commercialization of high-growth businesses in the Digital Media sector in Asia Pacific-before joining Nielsen.
He was a non-executive adviser and board member for Singapore’s Ministry of Communications & Information and also for the InfoComm Media Development Authority. Among these was the chairmanship of Singapore Media Festival.
