A special Reiki healing and meditation session organised in Bhopal during the BRICS Summit became a centre of international interest. Held at Hotel Taj Lakefront, the session was attended by delegates from 10 BRICS-associated countries, leading influencers from Bhopal, and guests from various fields. The initiative aimed to showcase India’s spiritual traditions and energy-based wellness practices on a global platform.
The session was conducted by Oorjaguru Ayush Gupta, who introduced the foreign delegates to the practice of Reiki healing and explained its principles. He also guided the participants through a Reiki practice combined with meditation.
Ayush Gupta said that Reiki can help bring a sense of calm and balance to the mind. He explained that focusing on specific hand movements and mindful meditation can help participants become more aware of their inner energy and surroundings. He encouraged the participants to focus on their breathing and experience the calming energy of nature. According to him, Reiki can help individuals connect with their inner energy and manage everyday mental stress.
Shishir Usha Bharti, who joined the programme from Rishikesh, also participated in the session. Highlighting the significance of India’s yoga and meditation traditions, he said that the combination of yoga, meditation and Reiki can contribute to an individual’s physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
Dilip Suryavanshi, who was present at the event, said, “In today’s fast-paced life, practices such as Reiki healing can offer people a much-needed opportunity to pause, breathe and reconnect with themselves. The foreign delegates who attended the session described their experience of Reiki healing and meditation as positive and unique, while appreciating India’s wellness traditions. Bhopal-based influencers also welcomed the initiative, calling it a meaningful step towards promoting mental well-being and a more positive lifestyle.
During the programme, the speakers also highlighted the vision of positioning Bhopal as an “Energy and Wellness Hub” in India. They said that Indian practices such as yoga, Reiki and meditation could help Bhopal emerge as a prominent destination for spiritual tourism and wellness activities on the global map.
The special session held during the BRICS Summit was seen as a step towards bringing India’s rich wellness traditions to an international audience and highlighting Bhopal’s potential as a destination for wellness and spiritual experiences.
