New Delhi | 03rd November 2026: Chef and entrepreneur Deepak Purohit, founder of Delhi-based 36 Lebzelter Bakery, has made his literary debut with Theek Hoon, a book that explores the gap between what people express in everyday conversations and what they may actually be feeling.
Taking its cue from the familiar phrase “Theek Hoon”, often used in response to being asked how one is doing, the book examines why people tend to conceal their struggles behind seemingly reassuring words. Through personal reflections, observations and storytelling, Purohit explores themes of emotional vulnerability, self-doubt, resilience and the unspoken experiences that shape everyday life.
Primarily known for his work in the hospitality industry, Purohit brings a different dimension of his creative interests to the book. Moving beyond his professional journey as a chef and entrepreneur, he turns his attention to human experiences, relationships and the complexities of expressing emotions.
Rather than following a conventional self-help format, Theek Hoon offers reflections on situations and feelings that readers may recognise from their own lives. It explores the influence of social expectations on emotional expression and why acknowledging how one truly feels can sometimes be more difficult than simply saying everything is fine.
Speaking about the book, Deepak Purohit said, “We all say ‘Theek Hoon’ at some point, even when things may not be okay. I wanted to explore that space between what we say and what we actually feel. These are experiences many people go through but don’t always talk about.”
With Theek Hoon, Purohit brings attention to the everyday conversations that often leave deeper feelings unaddressed, inviting readers to reflect on the words they use and the emotions that remain unspoken.
