Maharashtra Plans New Hoarding Policy After Ghatkopar Tragedy
According to Minister Uday Samant, the Maharashtra government will implement a new hoarding policy in the Mumbai Metropolitan Area on Monday in the legislative assembly.
During his discussion regarding the city’s illegally erected billboards, Samant brought up this point. This comes after last month’s event in Ghatkopar, where a hoarding fell and 17 people died.
“A policy will be unveiled once the code of conduct for the legislative council polls ends after the results are declared for the graduates and teachers constituencies,” said the minister.
Samant gave details about the inquiries into the hoarding fall incident in Ghatkopar, indicating that the committee headed by retired Allahabad High Court Chief Judge Dilip Bhosle is looking into the issue.
