IndiGo Launches ‘IndiGo Stretch’ Business Class on Key Routes
India’s largest budget carrier, IndiGo, is launching an innovative new business travel service called ‘IndiGo Stretch’, which has been specially designed to cater to the busy business routes in India. IndiGo Stretch assures the fliers a comfortable travel with 2-seat wide bays and specially crafted healthy meal options from Oberoi Catering Services. The print advertisement campaign today by this airline has been announced in The Economic Times.
IndiGo has partnered with RECARO Aircraft Seating for developing the business-class seating for its A321neo. R5 Business Class seats. Chosen for their diamond-pattern quilted covers and comfort cushions, the R5s also feature privacy wings, large center consoles with storage, pop-out tables, power outlets, USB-C ports, and tablet holders. This represents the inaugural inclusion of business class seating in IndiGo’s A321neo fleet. The economy cabin will be outfitted with RECARO’s R2 seats.
IndiGo Stretch will open for bookings from August 6, 2024, on the Delhi-Mumbai route, starting by mid-November at an inaugural base fare of Rs 18,018. This service will keep on extending throughout Metro-to-Metro routes and will result in covering 12 routes by the end of 2025. Initially, the airline will offer business-class seats on routes serving cities such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Hyderabad.
Stretch by IndiGo would feature 12 seats in a 2-2 layout to allow customers to stretch their legs and have a relaxed flying experience with good legroom. Keeping the aircraft at a capacity of 208 is helpful for 6E cabins, leaving room for XL seating in the middle of the aircraft. Not only that, but all customers booking on IndiGo Stretch will have many benefits, including no convenience fee, free vegetarian items on the menu, a wide range of drinks, advance selection of seating, priority check-in, and cabin boarding at any time.
The airline has placed an order for 45 shipsets of the product, with 12 business class seats for each A321neo aircraft. Installations will commence on Q4 2024 and continue throughout to the end of 2025. It will offer a desired option for very many who are aspiring to travel business, some of them seasoned and some possibly for their first times in their lives.
