US-headquartered Yum! Brands’ business Pizza Hut said it had appointed Rohan Pewekar as its new Managing Director for Pizza Hut Indian Subcontinent. Based in Gurgaon, Rohan will drive the brand across India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives, as Pizza Hut builds towards the next phases of growth in the region.

An alumnus of IIM Calcutta and The Wharton School, Rohan has joined Pizza Hut four years back; he handles the strategic and finance function as Chief Strategy and Finance Officer and has been a vital contributor to pushing the aggressive growth story for the brand in the region. With nearly 15 years of experience in B2C sectors across countries, Rohan brings cross-functional expertise in finance, go-to-market strategies, channel expansion, and many more.

Speaking on the new role, Rohan Kowsik Pewekar, Managing Director, Pizza Hut Indian Subcontinent said, “We’ve seen incredible growth, now touching nearly 900 restaurants across 200+ cities in India, and I am honored to lead the brand in one of the world’s fastest-growing markets.”. We are stretched, yet we are reinventing the experience-from bold partnerships and industry-first products to innovative marketing that connects us with a new generation of consumers and unlocks new possibilities in the Indian market. Double-digit growth rates continued to characterize the Indian Food Services industry, and the company was well-positioned to build on that momentum. Best, thanks to Merrill for the priceless mentorship-preparation, which has been pretty handy in getting ready for this next chapter. We’re excited about the prospect of working with our fantastically talented team and dedicated franchisee partners as we continue to push in growth, phenomenal results, and new standards for the way to achieve success.

Most recently, Rohan worked for Samsung Electronics India in a leadership role where he led numerous high-impact strategic initiatives. He has experience advising clients on market entry strategies and brand launches, network expansion, and digital transformation at the Accenture Strategy Consulting for multiple consumer industries.
