Audio streaming giant Spotify went down for more than three hours, with roughly over 40,000 users in the United States getting affected at the peak time, according to claims made by outage tracking site Downdetector.

As of 3 p.m. ET (1900 GMT), according to Downdetector, fewer than 600 users were reporting issues in the US.
Some affected users could not stream new content. More, during the outage, there was loading of playlists and sudden music stoppage.
Spotify’s number of paying subscribers has been up to 246 million in Q2 even though an outage occurred. No official word has been given by Spotify as to what has caused the outage.
