India’s most awarded single malt whisky brand, Paul John Indian Single Malt, has unveiled a new exclusive Single Cask expression in collaboration with Bengaluru Duty Free. Marking the third edition of the limited-release series created exclusively for the airport, the expression will be available to travellers at Departure stores of Bengaluru Duty Free at Terminal 2, Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru.
The Single Cask Unpeated is a limited release, with only 192 bottles available, making it a rare collectible for whisky enthusiasts and international travellers. Unlike regular expressions that are typically blended from multiple casks for consistency, a single cask release is drawn entirely from one individual barrel, offering a unique flavour profile. Distilled and matured in Goa, the expression showcases the signature tropical maturation profile of Paul John whiskies.
Bottled at 56% ABV, and priced at ₹14,950 for 70cl, it presents a rich, deep gold colour, with aromas of dark fruits layered with caramel, vanilla and a hint of manuka honey, alongside notes of leather, tobacco and spiced orange cake.
On the palate, the whisky reveals layers of dark chocolate, brown sugar, and black cherry, complemented by toasted nuts, vanilla, and warm spices such as cinnamon and pepper. The whisky concludes with a long, elegant finish featuring notes of oak tannins, vanilla cream, leather, dried fruits, and cocoa.
Adding a distinct Bengaluru connection to the release, the exclusive packaging has been designed by renowned artist Paul Fernandes, best known for his “Bangalore Pictorial” illustrations. The packaging features a nostalgic depiction of Commercial Street, one of the city’s most iconic cultural landmarks. Fernandes’ quirky and whimsical artistic style has long celebrated the everyday charm of Bengaluru through posters, maps, postcards, and book illustrations, bringing a uniquely local character to this limited-edition release.
