With exclusive advertising rights at Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport, Laqshya Media Group is turning Bhogapuram’s new terminal into a strategic media destination for brands looking to reach the next wave of travellers across North Andhra Pradesh and beyond.
Airports have evolved far beyond being places where journeys begin and end. Today, they are high-value environments where commerce, architecture, technology and consumer attention intersect — making them some of the most coveted spaces in the out-of-home advertising ecosystem.
For Laqshya Media Group, that opportunity is now taking shape on India’s eastern seaboard.
The company has secured the exclusive advertising rights at Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport (Vizag), the new greenfield airport at Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram district, Andhra Pradesh. The airport now carries all scheduled commercial traffic for Visakhapatnam under the IATA code VTZ, positioning it as the region’s newest and most significant aviation gateway.
Designed initially to accommodate six million passengers annually, the airport is already handling approximately 7,000 passengers a day, with 52 to 54 air traffic movements.
For Laqshya, however, the significance of Bhogapuram extends beyond passenger numbers.
Building a Media Environment from the Ground Up
Unlike established airports where advertising infrastructure evolves around an existing terminal, Bhogapuram offers Laqshya the opportunity to develop an entire media ecosystem from the beginning.
The company plans to create one coherent media environment across the terminal, bringing together digital, static, branded and experiential formats designed around passenger movement, dwell time and the architecture of the airport itself.
That approach reflects the changing nature of airport advertising. Visibility is no longer simply about placing a billboard along a passenger route; it is increasingly about understanding how travellers move, where they pause and how brands can become part of the overall environment.
“This is a proud moment for Laqshya as we extend our partnership with the GMR Group to another important gateway city on India’s eastern seaboard. Airports have become some of the most valuable media environments in the country, and the scale and ambition of Bhogapuram make it a natural fit for our growing portfolio. As we continue to expand our presence across premium media assets and key markets, we look forward to bringing the same standard of innovation and craftsmanship that defines our work across Hyderabad, Cochin and Noida to this new gateway for North Andhra Pradesh,” said Alok Jalan, CMD, Laqshya Media Group.
An Eastern Anchor for a Growing Portfolio
Bhogapuram becomes the fourth airport in Laqshya’s media portfolio, joining Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, Cochin International Airport and Noida International Airport.
The addition also strengthens Laqshya’s long-standing relationship with the GMR Group, while giving its airport portfolio a strategic presence in eastern India.
The geography itself adds to the opportunity.
Visakhapatnam is one of Andhra Pradesh’s key commercial and industrial centres, supported by its port economy and expanding activity across manufacturing, technology, logistics and tourism. Bhogapuram is designed to serve not only the city but also the wider North Andhra Pradesh region and southern Odisha.
In effect, the airport is being positioned as an important link between the region’s trade, industry, technology and tourism corridors.
For brands, that creates access to an audience that extends beyond the traditional boundaries of Visakhapatnam.
From Passenger Traffic to Brand Attention
The commercial opportunity is closely tied to the nature of airport audiences themselves.
Travellers tend to spend meaningful periods within terminals — moving through check-in, security, lounges, boarding areas and retail environments. That combination of movement and dwell time gives airport media a distinctive advantage within the out-of-home landscape.
According to FICCI-EY, airport media accounted for 53% of India’s ₹2,020 crore transit OOH market in 2025.
Bhogapuram enters that market with something particularly valuable: a new terminal, an established aviation audience and infrastructure designed with future growth in mind.
For Laqshya, the challenge — and opportunity — will be to translate that scale into media assets that brands can use intelligently.
“Visakhapatnam presents a strong business opportunity for Laqshya and our advertising partners. With the airport now serving as the region’s key aviation gateway, we see significant potential to build a robust and commercially attractive media business across digital, static, branding and experiential formats. Our focus will be on developing the inventory strategically, maximising the value of each media asset and creating solutions that deliver strong visibility and measurable value for advertisers,” said Shashi Sinha, CEO, Laqshya Hyderabad Airport Media Private Limited.
The New Language of Airport Advertising
The move reflects a larger evolution within out-of-home advertising, where premium physical environments are increasingly being treated as immersive brand platforms rather than conventional advertising real estate.
At Bhogapuram, digital screens can coexist with large-format static communication, architectural branding and experiential activations — creating multiple opportunities for brands to engage travellers at different points of their journey.
The new terminal therefore becomes more than a collection of advertising locations. It can function as a connected media environment, allowing campaigns to move across formats while remaining integrated with the passenger experience.
For Laqshya, this is consistent with its broader ambition to expand its presence across premium media assets and strategically important markets.
A Gateway with Bigger Ambitions
The arrival of Bhogapuram comes at an interesting moment for Andhra Pradesh.
As the region continues to develop its industrial, technology, logistics and tourism infrastructure, connectivity becomes an increasingly important part of that growth story. An international airport of this scale can influence not only how people travel, but how businesses reach and engage with the region.
Laqshya’s exclusive advertising mandate places the media group at the intersection of those developments.
Its opportunity is to build an advertising ecosystem that grows alongside the airport — one capable of serving today’s passenger volumes while scaling with the terminal’s future capacity.
In that sense, Bhogapuram represents more than another addition to Laqshya’s airport portfolio.
It is a bet on North Andhra Pradesh’s next phase of connectivity and commerce — and on the enduring value of physical spaces in an increasingly digital advertising world.
As India’s eastern gateway opens to a larger audience, the brands that occupy its walls, screens and experiential spaces will have a new way to become part of the journey.
