With more than 15 years in luxury hospitality and spa leadership, Sheric Dorairaj steps into a new role with a vision to bring traditional wellness wisdom, contemporary therapies and modern science together.
Luxury hospitality is increasingly being defined by what a stay makes you feel, not simply where it takes you. From restorative rituals to personalised wellness experiences, the emphasis is shifting towards a more considered kind of indulgence—one that leaves guests feeling as refreshed as they look.
At The Leela Palace Bengaluru, this vision takes a new direction with the appointment of Sheric Dorairaj as Director of Spa and Wellness. Bringing more than 15 years of experience across luxury hospitality, spa management and guest experiences, Dorairaj will lead the evolution of The Leela Spa, with an emphasis on holistic and integrated wellbeing.
A Career Shaped by Luxury and Wellness
Dorairaj joins The Leela Palace Bengaluru from The Ritz-Carlton Bengaluru, where she most recently served as Director of Spa. In the role, she led spa operations and introduced new wellness experiences, while also taking on the responsibility of leading Marriott International’s APAC Luxury Spa Advisory Council for South Asia.
Her career has also included key spa leadership positions with IHCL’s Taj Hotels, including The Taj West End Bengaluru, Taj MG Road Bengaluru and Taj’s Selections – Blue Diamond, Pune. Across these properties, she has developed experience in spa operations, wellness programming, team leadership and the art of creating personalised guest experiences.
Her contribution to the industry has earned recognition, including the BW Hotelier National Award Winner – Head of Spa 2024 and a place among Hotelier India’s Top 5 Spa Leaders 2024. Beyond hospitality, Dorairaj has been associated with World Wellness Weekend and serves as an Ambassador for Digital Detox Day, advocating for mindful living and a healthier relationship with technology.
Reimagining The Leela Spa
At The Leela Palace Bengaluru, Dorairaj’s focus will be on developing a more integrated approach to wellbeing—bringing together traditional wellness practices, contemporary fitness, alternative therapies and thoughtfully designed experiences.
At the heart of this vision is Aujasya, the philosophy that will anchor the spa’s evolving approach to personal wellbeing. The intention is to create an environment where traditional knowledge and modern science complement one another, offering guests a more individualised path towards balance and renewal.
“I am truly delighted to begin this new chapter at The Leela Palace Bengaluru. Our vision is to thoughtfully reimagine The Leela Spa as a destination for holistic wellbeing, bringing together the wisdom of traditional wellness practices with contemporary fitness, alternative therapies and integrated wellness experiences, rooted in the philosophy of Aujasya. We want to create a distinctive environment where ancient knowledge, modern science and technology come together seamlessly, enabling every guest to discover a more balanced, energised and meaningful approach to personal wellbeing. I am excited about the journey ahead and the opportunity to create a new benchmark for integrated wellness in Bengaluru,” says Sheric Dorairaj, Director of Spa and Wellness, The Leela Palace Bengaluru.
When Hospitality Becomes a Ritual of Renewal
The appointment reflects a broader shift in luxury travel, where wellness is moving beyond the traditional spa menu to become a more considered part of the guest experience. Travellers are increasingly drawn to experiences that offer space to slow down, reconnect with themselves and return to everyday life feeling restored.
For The Leela Palace Bengaluru, Dorairaj’s appointment signals an opportunity to further develop its wellness offering around this evolving idea of luxury. With her experience across leading hospitality brands and a focus on integrated wellbeing, the next chapter of The Leela Spa will be shaped by the meeting point of heritage, innovation and personalised care.
In a world where time and attention have become increasingly precious, the most meaningful luxury may be the opportunity to pause.
