India, a land of diversity, rich cultural heritage, and historical significance, stands proud as it celebrates its 75th Republic Day on January 26, 2024. This momentous occasion not only marks the day when the Constitution of India came into effect in 1950 but also serves as a reminder of the nation’s journey, resilience, and progress over the past seven and a half decades.
This year’s Republic Day theme revolves around ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Bharat: Loktantra ki Matruka,’ capturing the essence of our nation’s ambitions and its position as a guardian of democracy. It’s an exciting focus that reflects our collective aspirations and highlights India’s nurturing role in the realm of democratic values.
The 75th Republic Day Parade showcased the nation’s extraordinary Nari Shakti as impressive march-pasts by women received standing ovation by the invitees. This year’s Republic Day parade was ‘women-centric’, indicating the roles played by women in various sectors. For the first time, the parade was heralded by 100 women artists playing Indian musical instruments. President Draupadi Murmu and the French President Emmanuel Macron arrived at the Kartavya Path in the traditional buggy which made a comeback after 40 years.
