Olivia Creamery, the Kolkata-based artisanal ice cream brand founded by Chef
Malika Chawla Batra and Srishti Chawla, has entered the Delhi NCR market, marking its first expansion beyond
its home city. This cult-favourite luxury ice cream brand from Kolkata is now available across Delhi NCR
through its website and direct ordering, bringing its signature small-batch indulgence straight to your doorstep.
Launched in 2021, the brand has positioned itself in the increasingly competitive space of small-batch artisanal
ice cream, where differentiation is no longer driven by flavour alone but by ingredient integrity, process, and
narrative. Olivia Creamery’s ice creams are handcrafted in limited batches using seasonal fruits, fine cocoa,
premium chocolate, and carefully sourced dairy and natural ingredients. Its portfolio spans classic profiles and
experimental flavours shaped by travel notes, personal memory, and culinary reference points, alongside sugar-
free, vegan and range of luxury ice cream gifting hampers that reflect a widening consumer brief.
Over the years in Kolkata, the brand has steadily built a loyal following for its ice cream category, gradually
establishing itself within the premium artisanal segment rather than the mass indulgence category. The
philosophy behind #LoveAtFirstBite is rooted in the immediacy of experience, flavours designed to register
from the very first spoonful and linger beyond the last bite.
Speaking on the expansion, Co-Founder & Head Chef Malika Chawla Batra said the idea was never to scale
rapidly, but to build recall through consistency. “Olivia Creamery started with a simple intent: to create ice
creams that people remember not just for taste, but for feeling. Many of our flavours come from lived
experiences, whether something we tasted while travelling, a childhood favourite, or a moment tied to a place or
memory. Kolkata gave us the space to build that language slowly and honestly,” she said.
Co-Founder Srishti Chawla said the brand’s move into Delhi NCR reflects a natural next step in its journey,
rather than a strategic push. “We’ve always believed that ice cream is not just a product, it’s an emotion-led
category. Delhi NCR has a mature and evolving sweet treats culture, where consumers are actively seeking
authenticity, craftsmanship, and brands with a point of view. We see strong alignment with that mindset,” she
said.
With this expansion, Olivia Creamery enters a highly competitive and fast-evolving ice cream market, where
premiumisation is being defined less by scale and more by precision, small batches, clean labels, and
experience-led indulgence, shaping the next phase of growth in India’s premium ice cream category.
