SAN FRANCISCO, CA — North America Chhattisgarh Association (NACHA) Bay Area Chapter proudly represented the state of Chhattisgarh at the annual India Day Parade in San Francisco, held in celebration of India’s Independence Day.
This year’s centerpiece was a beautifully crafted parade float depicting the legendary story of Shivrinarayan, highlighting the devotion of Mata Shabari as she lovingly offered sweet ber (jujube fruits) to Shri Ram. Through this theme, NACHA Bay Area brought a cherished piece of Chhattisgarh’s cultural lineage and spiritual history to the heart of California.

The float resonated deeply with a diverse audience of both Indian-Americans and local spectators, drawing enthusiastic cheers of “Jai Shri Ram,” “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” and the proud regional slogan, “Chhattisgarhiya Sable Badhiya.”
The effort was led by NACHA Bay Area Chapter President Pooja Mahto, with strong collaboration from core team members including Rishu, Saurabh, Ankita, Ekta, Tez, Yogeshwari, Deepak, Mukta, Yugal, Jyoti, and Manas.
“From Chhattisgarh to California, our roots travel with us wherever we go,” said Pooja Mahto. “It was an honor to celebrate our heritage on such a vibrant platform and share our traditions with the wider Bay Area community.”
Deepali Saraogi Executive President NACHA said this year multiple locations NACHA participated and represented Chhattisgarh rich culture in various occasions. She congratulate NACHA Bay area team for successful execution.
