Thirty influencers, artists and digital creators. One shared purpose: using creativity and influence to make children’s voices heard.
Raipur witnessed a meaningful coming together of the city’s creative community at “Creative Voices: A Meetup”, an initiative centred on an increasingly important question: How can social media and creative platforms become tools for creating awareness around issues that affect children?
Bringing together nearly 30 influencers, artists and content creators from diverse backgrounds, the gathering created a space for conversations around child rights, health, infant mortality and mental health—issues that often require not just institutional intervention, but also informed public dialogue.
Representatives from UNICEF Chhattisgarh, including Anil Gulati and Dr. Gajendra Singh, spoke about the growing potential of creators as social changemakers. In an era where a single post can reach thousands—or millions—the responsibility attached to digital influence is becoming equally significant.
The discussion moved beyond the idea of social media as merely a space for entertainment and personal expression. Instead, creators were encouraged to view their platforms as avenues for credible information, constructive conversations and positive awareness.
Senior journalist D. Shyam Kumar brought grassroots experiences into the conversation, offering perspectives from communities where conversations around children’s wellbeing can have a direct and lasting impact. Media professional Sana Tamkeen, meanwhile, highlighted the responsibility that comes with influence and the importance of communicating sensitive subjects thoughtfully.
What made the gathering particularly relevant was the diversity of voices in the room. Influencers, artists and digital creators—each with their own audiences, creative languages and areas of expertise—came together around a common belief: creativity can do more than entertain; it can inform, question and inspire action.
For children’s issues in particular, this shift matters. Young people often remain among the most vulnerable voices in conversations around health, rights and wellbeing. Giving these subjects greater visibility through responsible storytelling can help move them from the margins of public conversation to the centre.
The meetup also reflected a broader evolution in the creator economy. As influencers increasingly become trusted sources of information for their audiences, their role is expanding beyond brand collaborations and lifestyle content. With that influence comes an opportunity—and a responsibility—to amplify conversations that matter.
The creators at the Raipur gathering expressed their commitment to using digital influence, creativity and credible information to contribute to meaningful social change across Chhattisgarh.
Because sometimes, raising awareness begins with simply giving an important story a louder voice—and ensuring that the voices that need to be heard most are not lost in the noise.
