New museum set to open on December 11, 2026, with general admission priced at AED 70
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, September 18, 2026: The countdown to the opening of Guggenheim Abu Dhabi has entered its next chapter, with tickets to the highly anticipated new museum now officially available for booking.
Visitors can now reserve their place to be among the first to experience the museum when it opens its doors on December 11, 2026, at Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Cultural District.
General admission tickets are priced at AED 70, while complimentary admission will be available for visitors under 18, UAE students and seniors aged 60 and above. Reduced admission rates will also be available for eligible groups.

A New Perspective on Modern and Contemporary Art
Through its collection, commissions, exhibitions and public programmes, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi will offer new perspectives on modern and contemporary art, creating opportunities to deepen understanding, expand perspectives and engage with the art of our time.
The museum’s collection will focus on art from the 1960s to the present, with works spanning a diverse range of media including painting, sculpture, installation, photography, moving image and new media.
Taking a transcultural approach, the museum moves beyond traditional chronological and geographical frameworks to explore artistic lineages, networks and exchanges between different cultures and regions.
Frank Gehry’s Architecture Becomes Part of the Experience
Designed by the late Pritzker Architecture Prize Laureate Frank Gehry, the architecture of Guggenheim Abu Dhabi forms an integral part of the visitor experience.
Located on Saadiyat Island, the museum features expansive galleries, interconnected spaces and extensive outdoor exhibition areas. Its interior includes 28 galleries connected by a central atrium and 10 sculptural cones, creating a distinctive setting for encountering art.
The museum encompasses approximately 11,600 square metres across its 28 galleries, alongside around 23,000 square metres of exterior exhibition spaces across the cones and terraces surrounding the building.
Inspired by architectural forms of the Gulf region, the building is designed as an iconic landmark overlooking the sea in the heart of Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Cultural District.
Visitors at the Centre of the Experience
Guggenheim Abu Dhabi places visitors at the centre of their journey through modern and contemporary art.
Rather than following a single prescribed route, visitors will be able to create their own paths of discovery through galleries exploring interconnected time periods, geographies and themes.

A Collaboration Between Abu Dhabi and the Guggenheim Foundation
Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is the result of a collaboration between the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation.
The museum forms part of Abu Dhabi’s wider cultural ambitions and adds another major institution to the Saadiyat Cultural District, bringing together architecture, art and international cultural exchange.
