From creamy hazelnut and mineral-rich oak to the warmth of saffron and amber, L’Occitane en Provence’s latest fragrance collection turns the landscapes of Provence into an olfactory experience.
There is something deeply personal about a woody fragrance. It can feel warm without being sweet, understated without disappearing, and distinctive without demanding attention. This season, L’Occitane en Provence India explores that complexity with three new fragrances that draw on the natural landscapes, botanical heritage and sensory richness of southern France.
Introduced in India on 12 October 2026, Noisetier Crémeux, Chêne Minéral and Safran Boisé offer three distinct interpretations of woods: a creamy, gourmand composition; a mineral-inflected, musky scent; and a rich, amber-led fragrance. Together, they bring a contemporary sensibility to the Maison’s longstanding relationship with nature and fragrance.
The inspiration lies in Provence itself — in the coolness of rocks and shaded woodland, the texture of tree bark, and the warmth of fields beneath the southern French sun. Rather than treating perfume as an accessory reserved for special occasions, the collection embraces fragrance as an everyday ritual: a personal moment shaped by scent, memory and mood.
“L’Occitane is about luxury, and about the routine we hope to build with our customers, one where fragrance becomes a moment to yourself,” says Vibhuti Munjal, Marketing & Product Manager, L’Occitane en Provence India. “These fragrances come from Provence and speak for the brand exactly as it is: authentic, rooted in nature and crafted with care.”
Three Fragrances, Three Expressions of Nature
Noisetier Crémeux: The Allure of Creamy Woods
Fragrance family: Woody Neo-Gourmand
Inspired by the hazel tree, Noisetier Crémeux reimagines the warmth of hazelnut and hazelwood through a composition that feels creamy, roasted and subtly indulgent. Since the hazel tree itself does not yield a natural extract used in perfumery, the fragrance recreates its character through carefully constructed accords.
The opening brings together bergamot, pink berries and hazelnut, creating an inviting introduction that transitions into nutmeg, cedarwood and hazelwood. Vanilla planifolia extract, vetiver and ambroxan anchor the composition, lending it warmth and depth.
The result is a modern interpretation of gourmand perfumery, where nutty richness meets the grounding character of woods. It is a fragrance for those who gravitate towards comforting scents with a more sophisticated, textured finish.
Chêne Minéral: The Quiet Strength of Oak
Fragrance family: Woody Musky
Where Noisetier Crémeux leans into creamy indulgence, Chêne Minéral finds its character in the raw, elemental beauty of Haute-Provence.
Inspired by the oak tree, the fragrance explores a drier, more mineral dimension of woods. Natural oak extract brings smoky, woody nuances, while ambrette seed extract lends the composition a distinctive salty-musk character.
Sea salt, cardamom and fig shape the opening, followed by olibanum, clary sage and oak chip. The dry-down combines ambrette, cypriol and cedarwood, creating a layered composition that feels earthy, aromatic and quietly assured.
Designed as a unisex fragrance, Chêne Minéral speaks to a more understated approach to personal scent — one in which fragrance becomes an extension of the wearer rather than the centre of attention.
Safran Boisé: Saffron in Its Most Opulent Form
Fragrance family: Woody Amber
Warm, enveloping and richly textured, Safran Boisé draws inspiration from saffron, often referred to as red gold. Its natural saffron extract lends the composition a distinctive warmth, while fir balsam introduces a resinous dimension.
The fragrance opens with saffron and cardamom before revealing a heart of fir balsam, violet and cashmere wood. Amber, sandalwood and myrrh form the base, creating a deeper, more opulent finish.
There is a sense of warmth running through the composition, balanced by woody depth and the richness of amber. For those who prefer fragrances with a pronounced presence, Safran Boisé offers a more expressive interpretation of the collection’s nature-inspired aesthetic.
Fragrance as a Daily Ritual
The appeal of L’Occitane en Provence’s new woody trio lies in its range of olfactory personalities. Noisetier Crémeux explores the comforting side of woods, Chêne Minéral embraces their mineral and musky character, while Safran Boisé takes a warmer, more amber-rich approach.
Each fragrance draws on a different element of the Provençal landscape, translating natural references into compositions designed for contemporary fragrance wardrobes.
In a world where perfume is increasingly treated as an expression of individuality, the collection makes a compelling case for choosing a scent not simply for an occasion, but for the feeling it creates. Sometimes that means the softness of creamy hazelnut; at other times, the coolness of oak or the lingering warmth of saffron.
With this launch, L’Occitane en Provence brings the spirit of southern France into an intimate, everyday experience — one spray at a time.
