Antila Lifesciences launches its consumer hydration brand nationwide, looking to move ORS beyond its traditional association with illness through convenient formats, contemporary flavours and an expanding product pipeline.
Hydration has long been associated with the simplest of daily necessities, yet the products designed to replenish the body’s fluids are often reached for only when something feels wrong. With changing lifestyles bringing greater attention to fitness, outdoor activities and everyday wellness, HydraSure wants to change that perception.
The hydration brand from Antila Lifesciences Private Limited officially launched in India on October 14, 2026, with an ambition to reposition Oral Rehydration Solutions (ORS) as part of a broader conversation around everyday hydration. Following an initial market pilot in March 2026, the brand is preparing to expand its distribution across retail, modern trade, e-commerce, quick commerce, hospitality and institutional channels.
Currently present across more than 14 states, HydraSure is targeting a wider pan-India footprint ahead of summer 2027, a period the company identifies as an important opportunity for the hydration category.
Reimagining a Familiar Category
ORS has traditionally been associated with fluid and electrolyte replacement during episodes of dehydration, including those caused by diarrhoea. HydraSure sees an opportunity to build greater awareness of hydration while retaining the credibility associated with the established category.
“We saw an opportunity to make it more relevant to everyday life, as travel, fitness and outdoor activity grow and people pay more attention to their health and well-being,” said Rahil Shah, Managing Director of Antila Lifesciences and Founder of HydraSure.
The brand’s approach centres on making hydration products accessible through convenient formats and familiar flavours, with the intention of reaching consumers across a wider range of daily routines.
However, the distinction between everyday hydration and medical ORS remains important. WHO-formulated ORS is designed for specific fluid and electrolyte replacement needs, particularly during dehydration, and should not automatically be treated as interchangeable with ordinary wellness drinks.
Flavours and Formats for Everyday Convenience
HydraSure’s current portfolio includes ready-to-drink beverages in 200 ml tetra packs, available in Coconut, Nimbu Pani and Orange flavours, with an MRP of ₹31.50. The company positions its Coconut variant as a differentiated offering within the category.
The brand also offers 21.80 gm ORS sachets in Orange, Coconut and Watermelon flavours, priced at ₹23.33 each. According to the company, these products use a WHO-recommended ORS formula.
A Watermelon variant is planned for the ready-to-drink range, while research and development is underway for additional hydration products.
The strategy reflects an attempt to combine the familiarity of Indian flavours with portable formats that can fit into different consumption occasions. For a category historically associated with pharmacies and recovery, the move towards broader consumer distribution could change how and where such products are discovered.
From ORS to a Broader Hydration Portfolio
HydraSure’s ambitions extend beyond its existing products. The company is developing a pipeline that includes hydration supplement powders in sachets featuring Indian and regional flavours, hydration bombs, fruit water, fruit drinks, hydration gels, and hydration and recovery beverages.
Vidhi Prajapati, Co-founder of HydraSure, said the brand wants to encourage consumers to pay greater attention to hydration before they begin feeling worn out. She added that convenience would be central to the development of products intended to become part of daily routines.
The proposed expansion would take HydraSure into a broader set of hydration occasions, although the formulation, intended use and regulatory classification of each product will determine how it fits within the wider portfolio.
Building Visibility Beyond the Shelf
Consumer engagement is another part of the launch strategy. HydraSure says it has established hydration activation touchpoints at more than 15 leading Garba venues and conducted an iPhone Duo contest, with further contests and consumer giveaways planned.
These initiatives are intended to introduce the brand to consumers through on-ground experiences while building awareness of its products.
Distribution will be central to the next phase. HydraSure plans to strengthen its presence across retail outlets and modern trade, while expanding its digital reach through platforms including Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Instamart and Flipkart Minutes. Availability across these platforms is subject to rollout and market coverage.
The company aims to develop both the breadth and depth of its distribution network ahead of summer 2027, positioning the period as a key milestone in its expansion plans.
Antila Lifesciences’ Consumer Healthcare Ambition
The launch of HydraSure also marks a step in Antila Lifesciences’ efforts to establish a dedicated consumer division.
Founded in Ahmedabad in 2010, the pharmaceutical company operates across finished formulations, domestic pharmaceuticals, over-the-counter products and consumer healthcare. It entered the domestic OTC market in 2023 with 125 products in Gujarat and has since expanded its operations to more than 14 states.
The company reports a workforce of more than 250 professionals and operates WHO-GMP-certified manufacturing facilities, with systems aligned with ISO 9001:2015. Its international business includes more than 400 products across over 40 countries, according to the company.
HydraSure is intended to serve as a key brand within its expanding consumer portfolio, creating a platform for further product development in hydration and related categories.
The Market Opportunity
According to Antila Lifesciences’ estimates, India’s ORS market is valued at approximately ₹900 crore to ₹1,100 crore in 2026, while the broader hydration and wellness market is estimated at ₹8,500 crore to ₹10,000 crore.
The company estimates annual growth of approximately 12–15% for the ORS category and aims to capture 5–7% of that market over the next one to two years. These are internal business estimates and targets rather than independently verified market forecasts.
Achieving that ambition will depend on consumer adoption, distribution reach, product differentiation and the brand’s ability to communicate the appropriate uses of its products.
Making Hydration Part of the Conversation
HydraSure enters a market where consumer healthcare brands are increasingly exploring opportunities beyond traditional treatment-led positioning. Its launch combines an established product category with a more contemporary consumer proposition, supported by a pipeline that extends into several forms of hydration and wellness.
The next phase will test whether that proposition can translate into sustained demand across India’s diverse retail and digital channels.
For Antila Lifesciences, HydraSure represents more than a new product launch. It is an attempt to build a consumer-facing business around a familiar need, with hydration positioned at the intersection of convenience, lifestyle and everyday health.
