Ratan Tata, former chairman of the Tata Group, breathed his last on October 9, 2024 at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. “It is with a profound sense of loss that we bid farewell to Mr Ratan Naval Tata, a truly uncommon leader whose immeasurable contributions have shaped not only the Tata Group but also the very fabric of our nation, passed away,” said N Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Sons, in a statement.
The statement adds, “For the Tata Group, Mr. Tata was more than a chairperson. To me, he was a mentor, guide and friend. He inspired by example. With unwavering commitment to excellence, integrity and innovation, the Tata Group under his stewardship expanded its global footprint while always remaining true to its moral compass.”.
Mr. Tata’s commitment to philanthropy and furthering the development of society touched millions of lives. It has ranged from education to health initiatives; his work left an indelible mark that generations will forever enjoy. Requiring all of this work is Mr. Tata’s humility with a genuine intent in every individual interaction.
I join in extending my heartfelt condolences to him in behalf of the Tata family. His legacy is going to inspire us as we strive to hold aloft the principles he so passionately championed.
