Indus Towers and Bharti Airtel Foundation Bring Digital Learning to 114 Students in Guwahati
The classroom of the future is becoming increasingly digital—and in Guwahati, 114 students are getting a closer look at what that future can look like.
Indus Towers Limited, in collaboration with the Bharti Airtel Foundation, has facilitated the installation of two K-YAN digital learning devices at GC CRPF Guwahati Montessori School, located within the CRPF Campus at 9 Mile, Guwahati, Assam.
The initiative aims to make classroom learning more interactive, experiential and technology-enabled while giving teachers new tools to engage students.
Two Digital Classrooms, 114 Students
The newly installed K-YAN devices are expected to benefit 114 students, providing them with greater access to technology-enabled learning experiences.
The intervention is designed to support:
- Digital literacy
- Experiential learning
- Classroom participation
- Technology-enabled teaching
- More engaging curriculum delivery
Rather than treating technology as an additional classroom resource, the initiative integrates digital tools directly into the learning environment.
What Is K-YAN?
At the centre of the initiative is K-YAN, an integrated digital classroom solution that combines several classroom technologies within a single portable unit.
The system brings together:
- A computer
- Projector
- Audio system
- Interactive learning capabilities
By combining multimedia-based teaching tools, K-YAN enables educators to introduce more immersive visual and interactive elements into classroom sessions.
For students, this can create a more engaging way to experience curriculum content, while teachers gain additional tools to support their lessons.

Technology as a Tool for Better Learning
The initiative reflects a broader focus on using technology to strengthen educational experiences.
Speaking at the inauguration, Neelam Dhyani, Head, Regional CRPF Family Welfare Association, highlighted the potential of digital learning tools to spark curiosity, improve understanding and create a more dynamic environment for students.
For schools, access to digital infrastructure can also help teachers present concepts through multimedia-based learning, adding another dimension to traditional classroom instruction.
Indus Towers’ Focus on Technology-Enabled Education
Rajender Gurung, Circle CEO (NESA), Indus Towers Limited, emphasised education’s role in social transformation and the growing importance of technology in making learning more accessible, engaging and inclusive.
The company said the K-YAN devices are intended to empower teachers with innovative classroom tools while helping students develop digital skills and confidence for the future.
The initiative also reflects Indus Towers’ collaboration with the Bharti Airtel Foundation and the CRPF community to strengthen educational infrastructure.

Bharti Airtel Foundation on Building Future-Ready Classrooms
The collaboration also brings together the education-focused efforts of the Bharti Airtel Foundation, which has highlighted equitable access to quality education through innovative and scalable solutions.
Sameer Shah, Head, Higher Education and Strategic Relations, Bharti Airtel Foundation, noted the potential of technology to make learning more engaging and inclusive while helping students develop competencies required for the future.
Through initiatives such as K-YAN, the Foundation aims to support teachers, enrich classroom experiences and contribute to improved learning outcomes.

A New Digital Layer for the CRPF Community
The installation at GC CRPF Guwahati Montessori School also carries significance within the CRPF community, where the initiative is intended to strengthen educational opportunities for children.
The inauguration brought together representatives from Indus Towers, Bharti Airtel Foundation, CRPF officials, school representatives, teachers and students.
The ceremony included the formal handover of the K-YAN devices, addresses by dignitaries and discussions around the role of technology in improving teaching effectiveness and learning outcomes.
⸻
The Mauve Perspective
The most meaningful technology isn’t necessarily the most complicated.
Sometimes, it is simply the technology that makes a child more curious about what is being taught.
With two K-YAN digital learning devices now installed at GC CRPF Guwahati Montessori School, the collaboration between Indus Towers and Bharti Airtel Foundation brings a more interactive layer to classroom learning for 114 students.
The larger lesson is equally important: digital readiness begins long before the workplace. It begins in the classroom.
And when technology is used to help teachers teach better and students engage more deeply, the classroom becomes more than a place to learn—it becomes preparation for the world ahead.
