Prime Video, a favourite entertainment destination in India announced today that the Tamil Original series ‘Snakes & Ladders’ will have a premiere. The Tamil Original series, curated by Karthik Subbaraj, and produced by Kalyan Subramanian (A StoneBench Production) has been created by Kamala Alchemis & Dhivakar Kamal, and directed by Ashok Veerappan, Bharath Muralidharan, and Kamala Alchemis. Boasting a stellar ensemble cast including Naveen Chandra, Nandha, Manoj Bharathiraja, Muthukumar, Srinda, Sreejith Ravi, Samrith, Surya ragaveshwar, Surya kumar, Tarun and Sasha Bharen in pivotal roles, this nine-episode series is loaded with suspense and intrigue. The extravaganza will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in India and over 240 countries and territories worldwide in the original Tamil language with dubs in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. It is the latest that Prime has to offer. This quirky, yet gripping dark-humour thriller is definitely a great ode to friendship, between all forms. The movie revolves around four school friends-Gilly, Irai, Sandy, and Bala. This group of friends gets themselves misplaced in a situation they could not have in life. While they move through various knockdown knocks and personal crises, leaving inevitable marks, making questionable choices at every step, their journey goes down an uncharted track of self-discovery.

At Prime Video, we are committed to bringing authentic stories that unearth deeper sentiments and strike all the right chords with our audiences.

“We will do our best to support stories that linger long after the credits. We look to create more content that ‘magically’ captures a diversity of milieu,” opines Nikhil Madhok, Head of Originals, Prime Video, India. “The passion for regional storytelling, especially in the Tamil content space, has been vital to our growth. Recent examples of this are Suzhal – The Vortex, Vadhandhi: The Fable of Velonie, and Inspector Rishi. Culturally rooted stories such as these have helped us build rich, engaging storytelling repertoire that resonates well with audiences in India and beyond,” the service said. Snakes & Ladders is exciting-the new series that we are pushing further with our content flywheel. Curator of the series Karthik Subbaraj said, “It’s been an absolute pleasure working on Snakes and Ladders, and I’m really grateful for the chance to be working with Prime Video on this project.
Bringing this story of these four friends to life was exhilarating in many ways. Each has something different in common in terms of character and a complex relationship, bringing inside and outside forces that go together to shape the life of a teenager. The unraveling of a mystery that interconnects their life journey will keep viewers hooked from start to finish. We wanted to create a funny but burrowing story into the subtle aspects of friendship, personal growth, and the more meaningful bonds and lessons that would ensure audiences connect with it. Everyone’s going to want to watch this on Prime Video. Snakes & Ladders will also be available for streaming during the Amazon Great Indian Festival 2024. And that, in the tradition of this festive season, from September 27, all Bollywood and international blockbusters, whether mass entertainer movies or intimate drama shows, will keep streaming in and remain discounted, up to 50%, during add-on subscription, just like Crunchyroll, Chaupal, Discovery+, Sony Pictures Stream, and ManoramaMax.
