Born in Hyderabad, built on coffee from Karnataka, Roastery opens its 17th House and first in Bengaluru
Bengaluru, September 2026: Roastery Coffee House has opened its 17th House and first-ever outlet in Bengaluru, at Banashankari II Stage, marking a significant new chapter for the Indian speciality coffee brand.
While Roastery was founded in Hyderabad in 2017, almost 99% of the coffee it serves today comes from Karnataka, particularly the Chikmagalur region. With its first House in the state that has supplied its coffee for years, the brand describes the Bengaluru opening as “Roastery’s Coffee Comes Home.”
For years, coffee has travelled from the estates of Chikmagalur to Roastery’s roastery before making its way to Coffee Houses across India. With Bengaluru, that journey has come full circle.
From Chikmagalur to Bengaluru
For Nishant Sinha, Founder & CEO, Roastery Coffee House, the Bengaluru opening represents more than entering another market.
“Roastery was born in Hyderabad, but the coffee that built Roastery was born in Karnataka. For years, coffee from Chikmagalur has travelled to our roastery and then to our Coffee Houses across India. Now, for the first time, we are serving that coffee through a Roastery Coffee House in Karnataka itself. So Bengaluru doesn’t feel like entering another market for us. It feels like our coffee coming home.”
Karnataka has been central to Roastery’s coffee programme since its early years. Today, the company sources approximately 100 tonnes of green coffee annually, with nearly 99% coming from Karnataka’s Chikmagalur region.
Roastery works directly with more than 15 coffee estates and farmers and focuses exclusively on 80+ speciality-grade coffees, including experimental processes and micro-lots.
For the brand, the relationship with coffee producers goes beyond sourcing. Roastery aims to celebrate Indian coffee closer to its source by highlighting the farmers, estates, processing methods and regions behind every cup.
The Bengaluru House brings the brand physically closer to the landscape that has played a defining role in shaping its coffee identity.
A Contemporary House with a Distinctly Indian Character
Spread across approximately 4,000 sq. ft. with seating for around 80 guests, the Bengaluru House continues Roastery’s evolving approach to creating contemporary coffee spaces with a distinctly Indian character.
Rather than replicating a particular monument or architectural style, the House takes subtle inspiration from Indian arches and traditional design vocabulary, reinterpreting these elements through a contemporary lens.
The interiors feature Roastery’s growing use of soft pastel colours, while Kalamkari-inspired artwork and upholstery introduce an Indian craft influence.
The intention is not to recreate traditional architecture, but to allow familiar Indian forms, colours, textiles and craft to naturally coexist within a modern speciality coffee space.
The design reflects Roastery’s wider belief that an Indian coffee brand can express its identity not only through the coffee it serves but also through the spaces in which people experience it.
Coffee Remains at the Heart of the House
The Bengaluru House brings Roastery’s familiar coffee programme to the city, including its signature Cranberry Coffee, Brownie Blend Cold Coffee, cappuccinos and manual brews featuring speciality-grade Indian coffees.
Guests can explore different beans and flavour profiles through the manual brewing programme, while the brand’s familiar hot and cold coffee offerings remain available throughout the day.
The coffee menu is complemented by an all-day food menu featuring sandwiches, flatbread pizzas, pastas and other café favourites. The offering maintains the Roastery experience familiar to guests across its other Houses while keeping coffee at the centre of the experience.
The Beginning of Roastery’s Bengaluru Chapter
Roastery does not view Bengaluru as a one-off opening and does not classify individual cafés as flagship stores. Instead, each House is intended to develop its own relationship with the neighbourhood and city around it.
The company plans to build a deeper presence in Bengaluru over time, with plans to explore approximately five to seven Coffee Houses across the city over the next one to two years, subject to finding the right locations and spaces.
For Roastery, however, Bengaluru represents something beyond expansion.
It brings together two ideas that have shaped the brand since its inception: exceptional Indian coffee and a distinctly Indian approach to the spaces in which it is enjoyed.
A company born in Hyderabad has now opened a House in the state where almost all of its coffee begins its journey.
Roastery’s coffee has come home.
