The D2C personal hygiene brand partners with Mirzapur: The Movie for a limited-edition drop and a campaign built around the franchise’s irreverent humour
What happens when the swagger of Mirzapur meets the everyday ritual of personal hygiene?
For Phitku, the answer is “Phitku Ka Bhaukaal.”
The made-in-India personal care brand has joined hands with Mirzapur: The Movie as its Exclusive Personal Hygiene Partner, bringing the franchise’s unmistakable humour, character chemistry and larger-than-life energy into a limited-edition campaign.
The collaboration arrives as Mirzapur: The Movie heads to cinemas, giving Phitku an opportunity to tap into one of India’s most devoted fan communities while introducing its personal hygiene proposition to a growing male consumer audience.
At the centre of the partnership is the Phitku Ka Bhaukaal Limited Edition, featuring co-branded packaging inspired by the world of Mirzapur.
But the collaboration doesn’t stop at packaging.
When Mirzapur Meets Phitku
The brand has also released a new campaign film featuring Divyenndu and Abhishek Banerjee, bringing the actors’ familiar chemistry and the irreverent tone associated with Mirzapur into Phitku’s world.
The film puts the spotlight on Phitku’s Activated Charcoal variant, positioning everyday freshness through the language of confidence, natural freshness and, naturally, a little “aura”.
The campaign culminates in the thought “Phitku Ka Bhaukaal”, turning an everyday personal-care conversation into something decidedly more entertaining.
Rather than treating the collaboration as a straightforward celebrity endorsement, Phitku is leaning into the cultural world of Mirzapur itself — its characters, humour and unmistakable attitude.
A Limited Edition Built for the Bhaukaal
The limited-edition packaging brings together Phitku’s personal hygiene proposition with visual cues from the Mirzapur universe.
It is a familiar playbook in entertainment collaborations, but the choice of Mirzapur makes the partnership particularly relevant for Phitku’s growing male audience.
“Mirzapur has built a distinctive cultural connect with audiences across India, and we’re excited to bring that world into Phitku in a way that feels playful, irreverent and true to both brands.”
— Sumit Marda, Co-founder and CEO, Phitku
For the brand, the partnership also represents an opportunity to make personal hygiene feel more culturally relevant and less clinical — particularly as conversations around men’s grooming and body care continue to become more mainstream.
Why This Collaboration Works
The interesting part of the partnership is the overlap between the two brands’ audiences.
Mirzapur has built its following around memorable characters, quotable humour and a distinctly unfiltered view of its world. Phitku, meanwhile, is attempting to bring an old Indian ingredient into a contemporary personal-care routine.
Its products are built around alum, a mineral traditionally used in Indian households for body odour protection. Phitku has reworked the ingredient into modern, alcohol-free formulations designed to neutralise odour rather than simply mask it with fragrance.
The Mirzapur partnership gives that proposition a completely different cultural entry point.
Instead of talking only about hygiene, the campaign talks about confidence, presence and “bhaukaal.”
From D2C Brand to Pop-Culture Player
The partnership comes at a period of expansion for Phitku.
Founded in early 2025 by Sumit Marda, Neha Marda and Rahul Dokania, the brand says it has already reached more than 6 lakh customers across India.
Its products are available through its D2C platform, leading marketplaces, quick-commerce platforms and an expanding retail network.
For a relatively young personal-care brand, collaborating with a major entertainment property represents a move beyond product-led communication towards culture-led marketing.
And that is perhaps where Phitku Ka Bhaukaal finds its strongest proposition.
The campaign isn’t trying to make personal hygiene aspirational in the traditional sense. It is making it part of a cultural conversation that already has an audience.
Back to Mirzapur
The timing is also deliberate.
Mirzapur: The Movie brings audiences back into the world of some of the franchise’s most recognisable characters, including Guddu Pandit, Munna Bhaiya and Kaleen Bhaiya, with the film marking the franchise’s theatrical transition.
Presented by Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment, the film is directed by Gurmmeet Singh, written by Puneet Krishna and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar.
With the film releasing in cinemas on September 4, 2026, the Phitku collaboration adds another layer to the growing cultural conversation around the Mirzapur universe.
Because sometimes, bhaukaal isn’t just about what happens on screen.
It is about what happens when a franchise becomes big enough to enter completely different corners of everyday culture.
And this time, it has entered the bathroom shelf.
