Set across 10 acres in Mandawar, the upcoming 171-key Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels is poised to bring together destination weddings, business gatherings and leisure stays, strengthening the hospitality landscape along one of Uttarakhand’s key travel corridors.
Uttarakhand has long held a distinctive place in India’s travel imagination, where spiritual journeys meet mountain escapes and wellness retreats. Now, as the state’s hospitality landscape continues to evolve, a new hotel signing signals growing ambitions for the region beyond its traditional tourism circuits.
ITC Hotels Limited has signed a management agreement for Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels Roorkee Mandawar, a proposed 171-key property strategically located along the Delhi–Haridwar Highway. With connectivity to Delhi and the National Capital Region, Dehradun, Haridwar and Rishikesh, the hotel is positioned to serve a diverse mix of travellers, from leisure seekers and pilgrimage visitors to corporate guests and wedding celebrations.
Announced on October 21, 2026, the signing marks another step in ITC Hotels’ regional expansion and brings the Welcomhotel brand to a location that connects Uttarakhand’s religious destinations with its growing educational and industrial ecosystem.
A Stay Designed for Every Occasion
Spread across 10 acres, Welcomhotel Roorkee Mandawar is planned to feature 171 rooms, suites and villas, offering a combination of accommodation and event facilities designed for different travel occasions.
The proposed amenities include an all-day dining restaurant, a bar and lounge, a swimming pool, spa, fitness centre, salon and amphitheatre. For celebrations and business gatherings, the property will offer 14,000 square feet of indoor banquet space alongside more than 20,000 square feet of outdoor event areas.
The scale of the planned event facilities places destination weddings and social celebrations among the property’s key propositions, while its location near IIT Roorkee and the surrounding industrial ecosystem also creates opportunities to cater to corporate and institutional demand.
For a region where travel often brings together family occasions, spiritual itineraries and business commitments, this combination positions the proposed hotel at the intersection of several hospitality segments.
A Gateway to Uttarakhand
Mandawar’s location gives the development a strategic advantage. Situated along the Delhi–Haridwar Highway, the property is expected to benefit from access to Haridwar and Rishikesh, as well as its position along routes leading towards the Char Dham pilgrimage destinations.
The location also places the hotel within reach of Uttarakhand’s wider leisure circuit, potentially appealing to travellers seeking a comfortable base from which to explore the region.
For ITC Hotels, the signing reflects the opportunity to expand its footprint in a market supported by pilgrimage tourism, leisure travel and growing interest in wellness-led experiences.
“Uttarakhand continues to emerge as one of north India’s most compelling tourism and hospitality markets, driven by pilgrimage, leisure, and wellness demand,” says Anil Chadha, Managing Director, ITC Hotels Limited.
He adds that the property will strengthen the company’s presence in the region while offering guests an experience rooted in Uttarakhand’s culture, natural beauty and cuisine.
A New Address for Celebrations
For Mandawar Luxury Resorts Private Limited, the project marks its first hospitality venture in collaboration with ITC Hotels.
Sanjay Bansal, Director of the company, says the partnership brings together the group’s brand legacy, operational expertise and commitment to showcasing local culture and hospitality. He also sees the hotel as an opportunity to establish a stronger destination for weddings in the region while contributing to Uttarakhand’s tourism and economic growth.
With its planned indoor and outdoor event spaces, the property is designed to accommodate celebrations at a scale that extends beyond conventional banquet venues. The combination of guest accommodation, recreational amenities and dedicated event infrastructure could make it an attractive option for multi-day weddings and social gatherings.
The Next Chapter of ITC Hotels’ Expansion
The Roorkee Mandawar signing adds to ITC Hotels Limited’s growing portfolio, which spans luxury, upper-upscale, premium boutique, mid-market and heritage hospitality through its seven brands.
With more than 155 hotels, over 14,200 keys and a presence across 95-plus destinations, the company has continued to build on a legacy that began in 1975. Its portfolio includes ITC Hotels, Mementos, Epiq Collection, Welcomhotel, Storii, Fortune and WelcomHeritage.
The company has also established sustainability as a central part of its hospitality identity, with a portfolio of LEED-certified properties and initiatives focused on responsible operations.
For Roorkee, the proposed Welcomhotel represents a new addition to the area’s hospitality infrastructure. For ITC Hotels, it is another step in a broader expansion strategy that seeks to connect established hospitality expertise with destinations shaped by India’s changing travel patterns.
As Uttarakhand continues to attract pilgrims, leisure travellers and celebrations, the next chapter of its hospitality story may increasingly be defined by destinations that can serve more than one purpose. Welcomhotel Roorkee Mandawar is being planned with precisely that versatility in mind.
The promise is a hospitality address where journeys converge — from spiritual exploration and mountain-bound escapes to business meetings and celebrations that bring people together.
