‘Girls Will Be Girls’ to Close Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2024
It’s confirmed now that the long-awaited film, ‘Girls Will Be Girls’, produced by Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha, those powerhouse actor duo, is going to be the Closing Film at the 15th annual Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2024 on 25 August. IFFM is now the biggest celebration of Indian cinema outside India and celebrates its milestone 15th year with grand celebrations slated between 15-25 August.
This film has already been critically acclaimed on many international platforms and goes on winning by securing this most prestigious slot at IFFM; it is going to have its Australian premiere in the festival. Further glamour addition to the closing ceremony and excitement, Preeti Panigrahi is planning a visit. The film has gripped many hearts all across the globe with its powerful storyline and outstanding performances.

‘Girls Will Be Girls’ has already had significant precedence at the international film festival circuit. It had its world premiere at the Sundance International Film Festival, where it received very enthusiastic reviews for its bold storytelling and exceptional performances, and won two top honors. This original film has been breaking borders since its world premiere in January, having screened at Cannes, Sundance London, and taken home the Grand Jury prizes at Transylvania International Film Festival, Romania, Biarritz Film Festival, France, and IFFLA in LA.
Girls Will Be Girls has been a joint production by Pushing Button Studios, Crawling Angel Films, Dolce Vita Films, Blink Digital and Cinema Inutile.
