Founded in a shared workspace, the communications agency marks a decade of growth, long-standing client relationships and global ambitions, with plans to double its international portfolio and workforce.
BENGALURU, October 19, 2026: Every communications agency begins with a story to tell. For Star Squared PR, that story began ten years ago in a shared workspace with two employees and an ambition to build lasting relationships through strategic communications. Today, the Bengaluru-headquartered agency has worked with more than 200 Indian and international clients, with global brands accounting for over 40% of its current portfolio.
As it marks its tenth anniversary, the agency is looking ahead to its next chapter, one shaped by international expansion, investment in people and the growing influence of artificial intelligence on communications and information discovery.
The milestone was celebrated with a team offsite in Kuala Lumpur from September 24 to 26, 2026. Bringing together employees across the organisation, the gathering reflected on a decade of growth while creating space to discuss the future of the communications industry.
A Decade Built on Relationships, Not Just Reach
Founded by Priyan DC, who brings more than two decades of communications experience, including leadership of Ogilvy PR’s South India practice, Star Squared PR was built around a clear premise: understand the client’s business, invest in strong teams and prioritise relationships that extend beyond individual mandates.
The agency’s early growth saw it move from a shared workspace to occupying the entire office within its first four years. Over the decade, it has developed a multidisciplinary team spanning strategy, media relations, content and client servicing.
Today, the agency reports a compound annual growth rate of 20%, supported by repeat business, referrals and long-standing client partnerships. Its average client retainer relationship extends beyond six years, while several clients have remained associated with the agency since its founding year.
In an industry where client relationships can be short-lived and competition is intense, the agency has focused on the quality of its content, strategic counsel and consistency of execution rather than scale alone.
The broader Indian public relations industry grew 11% in FY26 to reach ₹3,230 crore, according to figures cited by the agency. Against this backdrop, Star Squared PR’s growth reflects its emphasis on retaining client trust while steadily broadening its capabilities.
A Newsroom Perspective on Brand Storytelling
One of the agency’s distinguishing characteristics is its editorial foundation. Approximately 50–60% of its team comes from journalism backgrounds, bringing an understanding of newsworthiness, editorial judgement and the considerations that shape newsroom decisions.
This perspective helps the agency bridge the gap between what brands want to communicate and what journalists consider relevant to their audiences. The approach has supported its work across Indian and international markets, where existing client relationships and referrals have contributed significantly to business development.
With global brands representing more than 40% of its current portfolio, the agency follows a hub-and-spoke operating model, collaborating with partners and networks across Singapore, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom and other markets.
For Star Squared PR, international growth is therefore not simply about entering new geographies. It is about building the relationships and local understanding needed to deliver communications work across markets.
“When I started Star Squared PR ten years ago, the agency began small, but the ambition was always to build something that clients and people would want to stay with. What means the most today is seeing long-standing clients continue with us, colleagues who joined us in the early years grow into leadership roles, and former team members return to build the next phase of their careers with us. We have come a long way, but we still feel 10 years young. As we enter our second decade, the focus is on deepening our work with Indian businesses while expanding our global client portfolio and strengthening the capabilities we bring to both,” said Priyan DC, Founder and CEO, Star Squared PR.
The People Behind the Milestone
Beyond client numbers and business growth, the agency’s anniversary also highlighted the people who have shaped its journey. Several members of its current senior leadership team joined during the early years and have since taken on larger responsibilities. Former employees have also returned after pursuing opportunities elsewhere, reinforcing the relationships built within the organisation.
Among them is Santosh Chandrashekar, Associate Partner, the agency’s first employee and its longest-serving team member, who joined a decade ago.
Reflecting on the anniversary offsite, Chandrashekar said:
“Offsites have become an anniversary tradition at Star Squared PR over the past five years. They have played a key role in building rapport between teams and a sense of belonging towards our common goal. This time, as we sat down for the team dinner on the 36th floor in Kuala Lumpur, watching most of the team enjoy their first international trip, and some standing in awe of the height, I realised how far we have come. Ten years ago, none of us could have pictured an evening like this.
“What makes it special for me is that nothing about our growth was luck. It came from the people who stayed, the clients who trusted us, and the well-wishers who believed in us. It was also a proud moment to see the team take part in the workshop on communications in the AI era, looking ahead with so much hope and intent. Getting out of our comfort zone is frightening yet rewarding, and it has brought our whole team to Malaysia and will take us somewhere bigger in the coming years. We want to continue expanding our clientele and our team, and we want every person in that room to grow with us.”
The anniversary gathering thus served a dual purpose: recognising the agency’s collective progress and reaffirming its commitment to creating opportunities for its people as the business grows.
Preparing for Communications in the AI Era
As the communications landscape evolves, Star Squared PR is also investing in capabilities that reflect changes in how audiences find, consume and engage with information.
Its Kuala Lumpur offsite included a workshop on communications in the AI era, encouraging employees to explore practical applications of AI in everyday communications work and consider how brand visibility strategies must adapt as information discovery moves beyond traditional search.
For public relations agencies, this shift creates new questions around content strategy, discoverability and the ways brands establish credibility across emerging information environments. Star Squared PR’s focus is on preparing its teams to respond to these changes while continuing to strengthen the strategic and editorial capabilities at the heart of its work.
The agency plans to deepen its relationships with Indian businesses while expanding its international client base and investing further in leadership, people and content capabilities.
The Next Decade: Bigger Ambitions, Stronger Foundations
As it enters its second decade, Star Squared PR has outlined plans to double both its global client portfolio and workforce over the next three to four years.
The ambition signals a new phase for an agency whose growth has been shaped by long-term client relationships, a journalism-led approach to content and an emphasis on team development.
From two employees in a shared workspace to a communications business serving more than 200 clients, the agency’s first decade has been defined by steady expansion. Its next chapter will test how those foundations translate into a more international, technology-aware communications practice.
For Star Squared PR, the tenth anniversary is both a marker of how far it has come and a statement of intent for what comes next.
